View Full Version : New religion!

I have just formed my own religion. It doesn't have many principles, as I greatly detest rules and any person commanding another.
Basically, you follow your conscience and do what feels right. Also, pacifism is preferred.
Self-control in eating, conversations, etc., is also recommended.
There is an afterlife, but I have no clue as to what it is like or who will be there, but it is most likely much the same as this life.
The following are the basic principles of this newly born religion:
"What goes around, comes around." -Essentially, if you are a good person, you will have good fortune; if you are mean and crude, you will have bad luck.
"Live your own life." -Do not tell others what to do, unless asked for help. Do not control people unless they submit to your power. Do not grow over-zealous in your ruling, however humble.
Finally, the dieties...
There aren't any.
Well, there are, but you choose them yourself. I, myself, worship John Lennon, Albert Hoffman, and a variety of my favorite foods and drinks.
That's it! Any followers?

People who "detest rules" most often do so because they acknowledge their inability to follow even their own, you whiny, weak undisciplined faggot.

Sorry, I can't. It sounded like fun until the afterlife part, which is not even in part digestable for me.
Good luck.
and Oh!! Don't get offended when people don't take your beliefs seriously, and try to label you as a cult. A cult is a religion that has no political power. You're still justified to believe whatever it is you think is right.

I don't want to flame too much here since you have the right to believe whatever you choose. Problem is, you are presenting this as if it is something entirely new... your own work.
Golden Rule : Treat others as you wish to be treated.
"What goes around, comes around" - It's called the Law of Karma.
"Live your own life" - Basic human rights. Do not oppress others. Do not allow yourself to be oppressed.

I detest rules because there are so many of them and most of the ones that I seem to have trouble following are frivolous. If I couldn't follow my own rules then I would be grossly overweight, which I am not.
Also, how am I a faggot? For creating my own beliefs instead of getting spoonfed a bunch of farfetched crap?
Yeah, I don't really have much political power, but then, I don't really want any.
In my opinion, almost all power corrupts. I view a cult more as a religion that is extremely strict and whose leaders are greedy asses.
I don't have much exposure to any other religions besides Christianity. I don't really think most of the principles are all that new, I just felt like making an official statement of faith.

Your religions sounds almost similar to modern satanism. Of course there are some differences, your's is more of guidelines.... rather than a religion....

I think Femme's cult comment had more to do with criticizing our current system. Organized religions avoid being tagged as cults simply because they have political influence. If you aren't a large, organized religion, you must be some evil cult. I don't think she meant to imply that you need political power.
"I don't really think most of the principles are all that new, I just felt like making an official statement of faith."
That's fine. The ideals that you have accepted are definitely better than some alternative beliefs out there.

Words to like by:
"Thou shalt smoke lots of pot"
"Bukakke party after the service."
That's not a religion.
These are just your own thoughts and attitudes about life, or those you like to think are yours anyway.

That's just enough to stay out of trouble. I am not even sure about THAT.
It's a prerequisite if you want to go to sleep with a clean conscience(*), but that's about all. This is not to say it's not valuable ; it is, but it's not more than what I stated here, in my opinion. I might be wrong.
(*)If you have one.

So where did you go for a while? Guess you couldn't find a better place.

that's the typical western misunderstanding of karma, anyway.

Look, I'll tell you something. Your religion SUCKS. Religion should be organized, it should have a leader(s), and it should have a set number of gods and so on. So your so called 'religion' lacks orginizational structure of religion. In fact your 'religion' doesn't even have the organizational structure of a philosophy (like buddhism). So add some rules, make yourself leader, make up some dieties, and promise an afterlife in heaven to all who join. That way you have a REAL religion and you have a chance of attracting more than one person to your religion.

No, actually some religions are labeled as cults because they believe in something to stupid for modern society to accept. Lets say you worship a dead fish. That is just so stupid its unbelieveable!!! People did that in the B.C.s not now in modern times!!! Also, Worshipping John Lennon is just sad. He was a hippie not a God!!! So this so called religion would be also labeled as a cult.
Now with all that said an example of a cult that has political power can be found in Poland. The Brotherhood of... (I forgot the rest) owns a WHOLE political party in Poland. That means that cults can have political power yet be labeled cults becaue of their radical and stupid beliefs.
