Its too unchallenged a value in the modern world, this shitty assumption that lack of war is a good thing.

But lets not get into that. I want to hear from the people who always link War and Religion, and rant on and on like they are original about how "religions make people violent."

So, without using your own "religion" (or philosophical thought, or whatever you orient your worldview around), tell me why I should not kill my brother when I am angered with him. Clearly, I WANT to kill my brother. My entire body prepares for his murder- my palms sweat so I can grab something and smash him easier- my adrenaline flows so I have superhuman strength. The blood flows to my brain so I can think quickly, and my limbs so I can execute my thoughts with precision and speed. My balls shrink up so they cant be grabbed or injured. My stomach tightens so energy isnt wasted on digestion, and can be spent strangling him.

So why shouldnt I? And more importantly, what about Religion would inspire such a primal reaction?

Control over our primal instincts separates us from the animals of this planet. Ever seen a really pissed off dog decide not to snap at anyone near it? I realize that is more a case of self-defense, yet even that applies. Pacifists are willing to take beating after beating to get their point across. Some are never willing to give up their morality, even if it means their own death.

One of humanity's goals has always been to evolve beyond our primal tendencies. If you allow your emotions and fears to overwhelm you, you will become an irrational fool, hellbent on hurting anyone nearby.

Your body may prepare for a battle, yet we have this wonderful thing called a brain which keeps our body in check. Use that thing between your ears to solve any problems that may arise in your life.

fuck it, your posts are basically word play and arrogant statements.

no peace = people dieing.

i don't want to die, do you?

if you do, then shoot yourself.

either way, its pretty hard to claim the normal superiority that you normally assume.

I think he is trying to say that religion has nothing to do with the primal instinct to kill, in a given situation.

He is alluding to the fact that religion is not the cause, humans are.
