Have you ever had a moment that literally stopped you in your tracks? Have you ever had someone close to you die? Someone you see every day in class, and talk to everyday. I just found out this girl I knew was killed. I had just talked to her a week before. We talked about the future and shit, what were gonna do with our lives. We shared our hopes and dreams and shit. I mean, death is the most final thing in the entire world. It scares the shit outa you when it comes so close to home. It's one thing to hear about someone being killed on T.V. or something. It's something else when you actually experience it for yourself. I guess you have people you can talk to about important stuff. Just to think the next fucking day they could be gone, and so could you. Just imagine the friends you hang out with everyday, that you smoke with, and chill with. Instead of going to someone's football game, you could be going to their funeral. It is almost impossible to accurately put the feeling into words, unless you personally have experienced it. You are going to die. It's not a possibility, its a certainty. The only question is when.

This fear comes from your lack of belief in everlasting life, through grace.
If death was your sudden, final end, then yes...by all means, be afraid.
It's not a comfortable thought.
Fortunately, God has offered you two choices: heaven, or hell.
Death is NOT final to the spirit, only to the physical body.
I am sorry to hear about your friend...I hope that her heart was in the right place when she went.
God bless you...

Yes, death is final, but a natural, inescapable part of life.
I've known several people who have died from drugs and alcohol, yes, it's sad to lose a friend.
That's why it's important to enjoy life now.

SKS:
Look at it this way: She no longer has to put up with all of the bullshit of everyday life. I see death as freedom, not something to warrant fear or sadness.
Savior:
"This fear comes from your lack of belief in everlasting life, through grace."
I think it's simply a fear of the unknown, not necessarily a lack of belief. Faith helps many people get through their lives, but really, no one can know the truth of death until they've taken their last breath.
"If death was your sudden, final end, then yes...by all means, be afraid."
Why? If death is the end, and everything you ever knew, loved, feared, enjoyed, or hated was instantly blinked out of existence, why should you fear it? You will no longer feel suffering.
"Fortunately, God has offered you two choices: heaven, or hell."
Neither of which make any sense in my mind.
Heaven: Eternal happiness, correct? With nothing contrary to this happiness, it will become the standard, and will therefore, lose its meaning.
Water is considered tasteless, is it not? However, if water is the only drink you have ever had, then you would not know that it is tasteless - you have nothing to compare it to. Same goes for emotion. If you cannot compare your suffering to anything else, then for you, it is not suffering. It is simply life.
Hell: Eternal Damnation. (See above)
Hell presents another problem in my mind. What is the reason for punishment if the recipient has no way to learn from their mistakes. If your child hurts another person, do you lock them up and throw away the key? No. You realize that this is idiocy. You give them a chance to learn from their mistakes. If humans can realize this, I would think that a God would sure as hell know it. Yet, I still see plenty of preachers warning everyone of the horrors of eternal damnation. Fun stuff.
