I know its cliché after someone has an accident or is going through a time of need to look for answers in a higher power. Well, I guess I am a lucky to be walking cliché. During my accident (http://www.totse.com/bbs/Forum3/HTML/036517.html) and even now during my recovery I have been wondering why I was so lucky and many others in my ward where not. I am a Roman Catholic by faith but the many evils I have seen in the church and in its history have made me question is this the right way to worship Jesus. Has anyone here found the answers they where looking for during a crises?

When I was 15 my back was broken while skateboarding. I was devistated to be limited in movement. But I had plenty of time to consider my purpose in this life. These are some of my conclusions.

i wouldn't say accidents are like things to assume that lead to greater or better things

i'm 15 i skate and i fall on my back alot of times haha but i got up

proof- from my own experience.. shit happens and often in at wierd times and for seemingly unusal reasons. I also happen to beleive that in there, somehow God is present in that experience, and using it. The hows and the whys.. we don't know. But it happens.

If you're interested in this line of thinking... particularly in chrstian and Jewish thought- try reading the book of Job. It's all about "shit happening"- for no apparent reason, and the process of people trying to deal with it when they don't know the reasons.
