Hell is nothing more then a Christian believe. I can't think of any other religions that even remotly mention a "Hell".
If I may:
Even with all their threats of eternal damnation and soul roasting, christian missionaries have run across some who were not so quick to swollow their drive. Pleasure and pain, like beauty, are in the eye of the beholder. So, when missionaries ventured into Alaska and warned the Eskimos of the horrors of Hell and the blazing lake of fire awaiting transgressors, they eagerly asked: "How do we get there?"!
If there is a hell, I'll see you there. For your hell, maybe my paradise http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif)

This is a serious forum.
Please go to your room and play quietly. The adults want to talk.

Islam comes to mind.
Nothing more than a Christian belief? What if this belief were true? You act like it's no big deal

To me, it isn't a big deal. I haven't seen any proof of it existing, and in my belief, it doesn't exist. Hell is nothing more then an idea that the church uses so people are kept passive and don't think "outside the box".
Look at the little quote in my last comment, as I said, what you consider hell, I might consider to be heaven. What I consider hell, you might think of as heaven. Each person has their own hates and likes, and unless hell is fashioned for each person, then some people are going to think hell is just the next club med.

Greeks had Hades, Israelites~ Sheol, Norse~~ Niflheimer.
(The Hebrews called Hell "Sheol", the early Christians used the word "Gehenna", and the Norse used "hel".
The Greeks used "hades" as the general home for the dead, and Tartarus was the infernal abyss below Hades where in mythology, Zues hurls the rebel Titans. Tartarus was Greek Hell. The spicy condiment "tartar sauce", and the meat dish "steak tartare", derive their names from Tartarus, which was used to label the colorless crystalline axid, tartaric asid. The chemical tartar, potassium bitartrate, is also that pesky hard deposit that forms around the teeth and leads to gingivitis. Flossing, in a sence, can ward off Hell.)

lol, I meant in religions openly accepted by the west. Almost all religions from the early civilization age had some form of a "Hell".

Actually, Sheol wasn't hell. It was a grey-land. Purgatory if you will, it was nuetral.

No, as a grey-land, that is a generality, it was synonymous with grave or death/dead. But more specifically, from the OT, it was refered to, as a place of punishment for the dead, just as hell is. This has been already posted from "Strong's Numbers".
