I went to catholic school when I was 4 years old up untill I left when i was 15.

I always had access to a bible. Now my point is a little kid could open up this book at any random page as little kids do. and mabie read some discusting sadistic story about rape and geneside, such as this

So David gave an order to his men, and they killed them. They cut off their hands and feet and hung the bodies by the pool in Hebron.

1 Samuel 18

27 David and his men went out and killed two hundred Philistines. He brought their foreskins and presented the full number to the king so that he might become the king's son-in-law. Then Saul gave him his daughter Michal in marriage.

this is randomly a cut and paist from this http://www.infidels.org/library/modern/donald_morgan/atrocity.shtml

Sadly , a decent ammount of the bible actually IS rooted in the real world, and the world isn't allways the nicest place. http://www.totse.com/bbs/frown.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/frown.gif)

The point is it's a double standard; a kid can't go see a rated R movie but he can read the bible.

What was The Passion of the Christ rated?

I know children saw that and if the R rating means the same thing in the States they should not get in even with thier parents.

David was a man of War, whereas Solomon was a King of love.

There are reasons for the massacres in the Bible.

Plus, if you knew anything about the Philistines !!

yes, you're absolutly right, the killing and removal of foreskins of 200 men is entirely justifiable, and therefore suitable for kids to read!

You're right, it is a double standard, if it were any other book it would be banned.
