Does anyone belive in the greek gods... or know anyone that belives i the greek gods.

A couple of years ago in priamry school a teacher would come around Friday arvo's and teach us greek mythology and it was pretty good. But does anyone actually belive it.

In america, there is a fringe, but still present "neo-pagan" movement. It's sort of an "alliance" of druids, Greek mythology followers, wiccans, etc.

Druidism is especially funny because there is extremely little known about what the Druids actually believed and how they worshipped.

So in short, yes, some people follow it, but i don't know anyone who actually thinks it's true.

ALL NON-CATHOLICS ARE PAGANS!!!!!!!!!!

Or that is what I tell every non-catholic at my high school, and they think I'm serious.

I have seen Wiccan websites that claim they worship Greek Gods, Roman Gods and Egyptian Gods. It is pretty funny.

Nope. That religion is pretty much dead, immortalized by it's facinating mythology and incredible history.

Catholicism is the modern version of that religion, though.

The whole idea of pantheism in the way that Greek mythology interprets it just seems annoying, if anything, to me. I mean, do we really need a Love Goddess??? What does she do? Make love connections? The idea of assigning a god/goddess to every idea/emotion/action etc appears to clash with what we might call 'free will'.

^ possibly, although catholicism, the orthodox churches and christianity at large can be seen as having appropriated a lot of earlier and contemporary pagan mythology

For such an inspired work, you would think the bible would have some more originality...
