Just wanted to see if there were any pagans or Discordians or anyone who was clever enough to create their own religion around here. Christianity, Judism, Islam, Buddhism, Atheism, Agnosticm and so forth are so boring. Looking through all these threads, it seems like people are arguing over the SAME questions and making the SAME points they were making 10, 15, 20 years ago. *sighs*

Anyone who declares themselves a discordian and runs around telling everybody didn't "get it".

There are a few "pagans" around, although I don't think we have too many silly "OMG IM WICCAN WANNA GO OUT? IF U SAY NO ILL CAST A LUV SPELL ON YA OLOLOLOLOLOLLLO" type people.
Damn fluffs.
I guess I could sorta be counted as a discordian/zen buddhist/chaos magick type person/athiest/monkey

I'm quite partial to Norse polytheism, for reasons too wierd and personal to discuss.
I guess you could say that's a "pagan."

Thankfully pagan is a word broad enough to include all kinds of strange and creative beliefs. There aren't any pagan traditions that are "for me", but I take from all the pagan traditions to form my own wierd little perspective. I love Wicca for its conceptualization of Lord and Lady and for its' Nature-centric beliefs. I love the discordians for reminding me that religions can start in a number of ways, including jokes. Not to mention Eris is a wonderful goddess. http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif) The Hindus are ancient and wise. The Norse remind us to be brave and courageous and to live with strong character. Witchcraft teaches us to involve our intent and will in everything we do. Plus, I love so many gods from so many mythologies, Diana, Lucifer, Eros, Eris, Kali, Inanna, Isis, The Coyote Spirit, Loki and so forth.
Essentially, I don't quite understand why anyone would want to follow someone elses religion. Religion, to me, is our personal relationship with the Divine - and that is all that really concerns me.
The only religious principle that I truly cannot stand is that which denies our religious liberty and that which degrades our life here on earth.

I'm not Wiccan, but I like the Rede. I think it is a very good ethic.
