The way I see it, christianity is one big cult. Think about it... in short, it's all "Join our religion or you'll go to hell".

If you study how cults work, then take a look at christianity and the way they convert people, you'll see what I'm talking about. You can call me a heathen (by the way, that's an incorrect term because 'heathen' by definition is a 'person who hasn't yet been introduced into the ideas of christianity', which I damn well have and I'm sick of it), you can tell me I'm going to hell, you can tell me god won't love me, you can tell me anything you damn well want. Nothing you can say is going to change my views.

Your religion is bullshit, your philosophy is bullshit. You're wasting your life, depriving yourself of all life's pleasures, and for what? Because you'll suffer eternal damnation for it? Think about it this way... you can't tell me honestly you've never had an impure thought. Human nature denies total free will. The more you tell yourself not to do something, there's always that little inkling that wants you to do the opposite. As much as you'd hate to admit it, there is always temptation. You're always tempted to do certain things, because it's human nature.

Ever woken up in the morning and thought to yourself, "I'll just lie in five more minutes"? That's temptation, and by your logic you've sinned. Interesting... so you go to church, you say your prayers, and all is forgiven. See, what I don't get about this is, if your sins are forgiven just like that, what's stopping you from going out and enjoying yourself? Of course, logically speaking there's a big difference between getting drunk off your ass and having sex with a bunch of people, and having impure thoughts.

But really, think to yourself just for a moment. If you're really that worried about sinning, you should be shitting yourself around the clock. Every little thought that could be considered wrong, every little movement you make that may be sinful, those tiny little things add up, and you've committed multiple sins before you even realise it.

And you go to church, say your prayers, and everything is fine. You sit there in your false hope that everything is fine, everything is forgiven. In a few hours time you'll have sinned anyway. So what's the point? Go out, enjoy yourself, have a good fucking time. Because in the end, all that really matters is you. I admire anyone who actually takes the time to read this all, and takes it in. Any christian who replies to this with flames or threats, well... that just proves how weak they really are. This is precisely why many Christians are rethinking their faith. Yes, there are hard-core ones who refuse to be open-minded on most issues, but, there is a growing number of people who agree that Christianity has become just another cult. They are sick of it and are looking for something that is more fitting to their beliefs. I'd say that a vast majority of totseans are actually open minded and actively searching for a more "perfect" religion than Christianity.

To Charles: If you had any shred of independent thought left, you'd read what I have to say and actually think about it, contemplate... consider that what I'm saying might actually make sense rather than taking the attitude, "He's arguing with my beliefs, so I'll just fire threats of eternal damnation in his direction and hopefully he'll go away".

I'd say that 90% of the people that go to church are there for social reasons. If they don't go then their "friends" and family will look down on them.

If you haven't noticed, Christianity isn't alone, Judaism damns pagans to hell, Christians damn pagans and jews to hell, Muslims damn all to hell. at least the fundamentalists do of each religion. The philosiphy is this "Be nice", oh that's not too hard is it? what one considers to be an impure thought depends on who you are talking about. Temptation is for temptations of wrong things, not sleeping in 5 minutes. According to YOUR belief of what Christians think is that temptation to do the right thing is wrong. When you are tempted to do something bad, its natural no problem, its whether you resist it or not is what matters. And you clearly don't understand anything about being forgiven, its not like "I need to be forgiven" okay your forgiven". While that may happen you truly haven't done anything. You haven't truly shown contrition. If you show contrition, in a prayer to God or a priest then you are TRULY forgiven, otherwise whatever you do is void. All this "enjoy yourself, you're missing out" is crap, I know more Christians who are happy with the lives they live compared to those who take drugs and get drunk and have illicit sex. They feel crappy about themselves despite the small euphoria they get from each one of those actions. all Enlightened people, be it Buddha or Christ, were truly happy, they didn't need substances to make them feel better.

Fake Christians will tell you "Do this or you'll go to hell." Hell is not mentioned in the bible. In Isaiah 14 it says the word 'hell' in the KJV, but the hebrew version simply uses the word meaning 'Land of the dead'.

There is no fire and brimstone described, that comes from Dante's Inferno, a book some dude wrote about his visions of hell. Don't take someones elses word for what the bible means, use your own mind. Have you read the bible? Do you understand the bible? Time changes, the bible doesnt, use your mind to form your own opinions about a book you interpreted yourself.

Life's pleasures? Like drugs? beating myself in the head with a hammer? Sex with strangers, so many that i lost count and so many that falliing in love with my wife was almost impossible? Just so you understand, going to church and/or praying, is not what is salvation for sin. Salvation comes from the Grace of God because of Jesus work on the cross and through ones acceptance of the gift of Grace. Prayer, going to church...these are acts of devotion, of worship, of thankfulness. As for "what's stopping you from going out and enjoying yourself", the answer would be (1)nothing... except (2)thou shalt have no other gods before me and remember the Sabbath day and keep it Holy. (3)How do you know i'm not enjoying myself worshipping?, but more than likely, you meant "Since you are saved why not go out and sin however you want". To this, the answer is: Out of love and thankfulness, we should try to not sin.

Nope. A sin is a sin is a sin. Murder and thinking about telling a tiny little lie are sins. All sin is sin. There are no varying degrees. Although getting drunk (by itself), i think, technically is not a sin. But getting drunk does "take ones eyes off of God" and make temptation easier to succumb to.`

The thing is, you, like most people out there (including most "Christians") have absolutely no idea of what Christianity really is.

That you must be a Christian to go to heaven is true, but we cannot expect you to become one. Only God can make someone convert. Christians are only supposed to teach the Gospel, we are not supposed to convince people that it is true. The Holy Spirit will do that if they are of the elect. No intervention by man other than the actual preaching is required, or even desirable.

The bible wasn't written by God. Browse through the names of the chapters, most of them are names of their authors.

Actually, Genesis gives two accounts.

One says there were two of every animal:

Genesis 6:19-21

(God to Noah)

"You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive. You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them."

The other says there were seven:

Granted, the second account distinguishes between clean and unclean. But the first says "two of every kind of bird", while the second says "seven of every kind of bird."

Christianity is bullshit. If you realise that everyone that doesnt believe in god etc will go to hell, then that means most of the damn world will go to hell, seeing as christianity is a minority religion. Most of the worlds population believe in other shit. To me christianity was just made up to set a guideline on how people should behave towards one another, be kind to ur neighbour and shit like that. Sheeple have just taken it too far.

Uh sorry but you are wrong. It is quite clear in the Bible that man CANNOT accept God unless God enables him. So God does indeed choose who can be saved. Jesus also said that those the Father GIVES to Him WILL come to Him. I can give you tons of verses if you are not to scared of them. Also, verses like John 3:16, and Romans 10 have been perverted and taken out of context.

We'd be alot further along if we would only keep our own religions private and personal. Keeping our relationship between ourselves and our gods private without needing to have others believe as we do. In that sense, Atheism is not better than Christianity, because they believe that have the ONE TRUE WAY.
