Every person in the universe

is a manifestation of what is sacred.

What is sacred?

It can not be grasped.

Yet it can take hold.

It cannot be pushed or pulled.

Yet it can move you.

It can not be taught.

Yet it can be learned.

It can not be controlled.

Yet it can be allowed.

In listening to the voice of another,

the sacred is being revealed.

In accepting the hand of another,

the sacred is being revealed.

In allowing yourself to receive another,

the sacred is being revealed.

The sacred is not given.

The sacred is received.

So, do not impose your spirituality.

You have nothing to give.

Does Sacred=Heroin?

I'm sorry, bad joke on my part and it was a good read.

Very nicely written, but could you elaborate on these a little?

The sacred is not given by whom?

I concur the sacred is received (or perceived, rather)

I agree, ones spirituality should not be imposed upon another.

But everyone has something to give, just don't (as you say) impose.

In fact, how does the saying go...I think it's this...'Even those who are seen as being the most slow, the most ignorant, have their truths to tell.' [can't remember where I read this and I'm sure it's an inexact quote, but the meaning is there]

Actually I can't claim authorship for this awsome quote. I found it in a book called the tao of dying (a book to help the caretakers of the dying) I believe it is a direct quote from the tao te ching but can not confirm that. I just felt it was very approriate of this forum. Since I did not write it I can not elaborate on it, but I think its vagueness is one of its strengths, what you read from it depends on how you interpet its meaning.

The meaning I get from the quote is that everyones spirtuality is a very personel thing, that is influenced by the things around you but not dictated by those around you.

Yes, it did have the feel of an oriental influence.

Nice interpretation of it. http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif)

What a pity, I must not have been enlightened yet. The stuff in the first post looks suspiciously like useless crap to me.

Yeah, it does. Please take pity on me and tell me what the hell the original poster is on about. He's either onto something or on something.
