Many of these questions are rhetoric, and they're all coming from a point of view assuming there is a god. They're all questions I thought would be worth asking.

So, here I hav e a god; but what is god? What's it's function? Animal? Mineral? Fruit? What does it do? Do you need god? Does god benefit me? Does god benefit the world? Is god good? Where is god? What makes god god? Can something become a god or god? What kind of characteristics does god have? What kind of abilities? Where is Heaven and Hell? Does god live in Heaven with the angels? Does Satan live in Hell with the demons? Do people go to Heaven and Hell when they die? What's so nice about Heaven? Is our free will revoked when we die? Otherwise what's the point of having our freewill if there's no use for it? Does god have a family? Children? A wife? Why is marriage important religiously speaking? Are we intended to procreate? Why should I listen to god? Why is it important - religiously speaking - to be married before having sex and/or procreating? What language does god speak? Where did he come from? Are humans life a science experiement to him or did he create us to serve as his children? Or both?

Perhaps we were a science experiment and after the free will thing backfired in Eden he realized her couldn't control humans (he could destroy them, but not control them) and he grew a fondness for them the same way a father feels the first time his son finally fights him back. It's not what he wanted and isn't desireable, but it's oddly bittersweet.

How did god create man out of dust? How long were these "days"? How could time be measured in days if there wasn't yet an Earth or a Sun?

Perhaps over thousands of years man evolved from the dust?

What does god look like? Who are the other "gods"? Or is he referring tot he angels? Are those his "daughters" mentioned in Genesis? Did god create all creatures in his image or just humans? Then why do we all look different? Why are we all imperfect?

Perhaps god is imperfect, but is perfect to us because - being made in his image - he is the ideal. Why didn't god kill the serpent in the flood? Who was the serpent? What was the serpent before god cursed him to slither on his belly and eat dust all his days (Genesis Chapter 3, I think)? Where do it say the serpent is Satan? Who is Satan?

I know about Saint Lucifer - The Arch Angel Of Light, but who is Satan: the personafication of evil? My studies point to a Persian female demi goddess referred to as Angry. She was the first recorded personafication of evil thousands of years before Christianity made Satan the Prince Of Darkness. How did the Arch Angel Of Light become The Prince Of Darkness?

Is Satan evil? Why is he evil? What is his function in my world? Does he believe that our existence is worthless? Did he may be change his mind after being spurned from god? Has he found soulace in the human race? Is it possible for him to be good, helpfull, riteous? What is riteous? Is Satan always evil and god always good? Do they hate each other? Does Satan hate humans or does he just think he's too good to serve us? Is Satan Saint Lucifer? What happened to all the thousands of angels who followed Satan to Hell? how can you feel the pains of Hell if you don't have a body?

Is there any way to become a god? Why does god talk in the third person if he's writting the bible? Can I write a bible? What kind of requirement are there? What makes a bible a bible? (Bible being Latin for bibliography or short for bibliteca meaning the reference guide or liabrary.)

What about the duality? Is there a duality? Is it dark and light? Black and white? Good and evil? Man and woman? Pain and pleasure? Is anything without function? What becomes of things without function? Do they shrivel up and rot away? Are they forgotten? Hated? Tortured? Does those things go to Hell? Why do they call Lucifer Satan? How hard is it for God to forgive me? Does he care about me? Anybody? Or does he care for all humans as a whole? Does god have feelings? Does god have empathy? How else could he care or love unless he had empathy? He must feel pain if he feels empathy and pain is weakness, so is he an all po9werful but unfeeling god or a weak but empathetic god? Would a weak god be less perfect to us than an all powerful but unfeeling god? Which would you rather have? Could apathyt be a handiocap for a god? That really depends on what the gods function. Is it possible that god is really scientificly proveable? Could god be found in a lab? Living at the bottom of the Marina Trench? On the Moon? In a hotel sloset or an attic? Could it be a blackhole? Light energy like in String Theory? May be Time? Or some kind of mineral? Can god die? Can god live? What do you think happens when you die? What does god want from me? What does Satan want from me? Why should I fear Satan when he is my servant, as a human? What can Satan do to me? If I go to Hell do I become a demon? And if I go to Heaven do I become an angel? Why is being an angel more desireable than being a demon? Does god have a body like a human that can be heard, felt, smelled, tasted, seen, etc...? Can he get dirty or stinky? Or would he simply naturally repel undesireable things such as dirty and stink? What if he wanted to be dirty? Could he? Is there anything god doesn't know? Even if it's irrellevant to us? Is it assumed, religously, that humans - despite all faults - are (for the most part) inherently good? Because science has proven humans must learn decency and civility and the virtues of humanity.

If humanity must be taught did it ever exist? Or was it just a concept derived from a utopian theory summarizing what human beings may have the potential to evolve into, a supposed right-way-to-be for all humans to strive for? What is humanity? Is it the human race once the human race has found humanity? Or is it just a word? A concept? Is it an ideal? Can/will it be done? Is humanity a code of conduct? An ettiquette book? The blending of the mind, body, and soul with the rest of society? What makes humans more devine than the rest of the creatures on earth? Just because god said so? Intelligence? Awareness? Do animals believe in/feel a god? What is gods function to the animals? What about things not mentioned in the bible? Do they just not exist? What about aliens? What if a more intelligent life form colonized our planet? Would god favo them and make us their slaves because of their added intelligence and awareness? The hightened ability to communicate and understand god? Would god destroy us? What is the cuntion of the Messiah? What will be achieved by the presence or second coming of a messiah? Is one neccissary? What would the function of an apocolypse and/or The Rapture by? What kind of people will just be taken? What kind of people will be left behind? What will happen to all the souls? Would this be gods doing? Satnas doing? Or is it something else that wants a messiah and apocolypse? Why is The Rapture biblically important? A fter all that will god and Lucifer forgive each other? Will all Heaven, Hell, and Earth become one? What is going on/in The East of Eden? Is it East outside of Eden or East inside of Eden? Why is it "Nod"? And why does god send Cain to wander there when he planted the faurded Tree Of Life there? If Cain was meant to be alone why does he ahve a wife? Or does alone suggest "without god"? If he was meant to wander in Nod how come he builds a city and has a family? Why does Lamech kill Cain? And was Seth Adams son or "some other seed"? Whose then? Or is it not mentioned cause it's not important? Who wrote the bible? What of their lives and characters? What function does the bible serve? Who is or what is it intended for? An educational reference book? For a geneaology of mankind? An explanation for how the universe came to be? How it all functions together? A history of the universe as it pertains to mankind? A guide book for how to live your life properly? Is that the functino of religion? To help mankind live their lives properly? What is living properly? Getting the most pleasure with the least ammount of pain? Evlightenment? Spiritual or intellectual? Maing god happy?

Is it possible that god created humans in a different plain of extence - one where he cannot physically exist in? And that he can only become real through humans, thereby creating humans with the intention of being recreated and made immortal by humans? That perhaps god was exiled or lost or stuck or the last one left and humans were a last ditch effort for survival (as he lives through his believers) and immortality? Without humans to believe in god would he sieze to exist? Does god need humans? How are we like god? How are we unlike god? Is godliness something desireable? Can god stop being god? Or is he stuck with his creations forever, like it or not? If god is unfeeling how could we please him or anger him? If Christians worship Jesus as god and the father and the holy spirit how can they be a monotheism? If they're all only facets of the one god why didn't Jesus embody also the father and the holy spirit? Why did Mary marry Joseph - who was so much older? What did Jesus say and/or do to prove that he's a god or moreover the one god? Who came up with the concept of the father, son, holy spirit triune god? Why did they come up with the idea? What was this idea based upon? Or was it just the only/best explanation? What is the relationship between god and religion? What function does god serve for religion? What is gods religion? Or does he except most anybody despite religious beliefs? Does he favor any religion? Or people? Or locations? Does god have a religion or is it redundant for him? Does god emody religion? Spirituality? Intellect? Emotion? All facets of humans existence? What are the facets of human existence?

What is the different between spirit and soul? Is Satan still an arch angel? Is he still gods davorite angel? Why do we call him a "saint"? Who is gods favorite angel now? Who is his favorite human? He seems to tend to play favorites. Wouldn't you imagine he'd favor a messiah? So how are we supposed to find the messiah without an up to date bible? Benny Hinn? Sylvia Browne? Alliester Crowley? Search the sky for patterns in the clouds or listen for clues on the wind? Is it a test to see if we can find the messiah?

And done.

Cheers,

Lost

quote:So, here I hav e a god; but what is god? What's it's function? Animal? Mineral? Fruit?

When speaking on deities, maybe it’s best to, STOP THINKING LIKE FLESH. Just a thought…

quote:What does it do? Do you need god?

No (well…yes and no), and I don’t think the idea/point/real question is or has ever been whether or not God is someone we NEED per say. It’s all about whether or not you/we ACCEPT and/or WELCOME God into the life He allows you/us to have.

No we don’t NEED Him, but without Him we’ll have no absolution, no solace, no real sense of purpose, no concrete understanding of all things. We’ll go on forever (maybe) in misery, misunderstanding, and tumultuousness without His ‘Light’.

quote:Does god benefit me? Does god benefit the world?

Maybe not in the ‘Flesh’, but if there’s an afterlife for humans then yes He’s the only benefit you’ll ever need.

quote:Is god good?

What is ‘good’???

quote:Where is god?

You’d have to ask Him, Love. That’s somewhat of a broad and insignificant question. But if you’re asking where He ‘hangs His skies’, I reckon that’d be Heaven.

quote:What makes god god? Can something become a god or god?

Well, I don’t concretely believe in God, however, I don’t deny that He exists. And it is my belief that if He does, the very question to which I am now responding is the one He’s aching to have answered for Himself. I believe the ‘Human Purpose’ is to help God get some idea of how He came into existence. By setting up an environment like the one from which He was contrived, only with matter.

And ‘Watching’ us to see what happens: ‘Watching’ us as He appointed His angels to do. And He chooses not to interfere because He simply doesn’t want to ‘INTERFERE’ with His own designs. And I also believe that the reason He is/was so peeved at Satariel/Satan is because Satan almost (or did) mess(ed) everything up with his pride and lasciviousness. But I’m considered weird so disregard those thoughts if you find them inane.

quote:What kind of characteristics does god have?

Umm…HE’S GOD

quote:What kind of abilities?

Infinite (so I’ve heard) :sarcastic:

quote:Where is Heaven…

I reckon, possibly an Ethereal realm.

quote:…and Hell?

I believe Earth as well as many other material (physical) places are hell. The religious faiths from which this concept of hell was contrived suggests so. They state the ‘any’ or ‘places without the ‘Light of God’ is/are hell’.

quote:Does god live in Heaven with the angels?

I’d reckon so. But again, I’m weird.

quote:Does Satan live in Hell with the demons?

Wow. Well, I’d say yes and no. I believe Satan ‘works’ in hell, which is His GOD-given kingdom. So he thusly spends more time there, mainly as punishment. But as is shown in Job (Jobe), which supports my theory, he’s often called back to his ‘real’ home, Heaven.

quote:Do people go to Heaven…

I believe so, if they are deemed worthy of His Holy Mount.

quote:…and Hell when they die?

Well, Love (I promise I’ll stop callin you that now), I don’t think it’s a matter of going, but a matter a staying.

quote:What's so nice about Heaven?

Absolution, internal bliss, God’s presence, God, beautiful angels with glass voices( well, that’s the best way I can describe how I imagine their voices), clarity (or ‘Divine Comprehension’ as I call it)

quote:Is our free will revoked when we die?

I think absolutely not. I think that’s when it becomes most critical. I believe that angels where born loving God, because they were born with the knowledge of God, they were with Him. Where as we weren’t, such a gift was not given to us, the gift of knowing Him. We can only speculate, hope and build the faith in ourselves that He exists. There’s no such ‘Divine Clarity’ for us.

They’ve always had Him and have never had to doubt or be confused and feel betrayed and forsaken as we have. They are the ‘kids He takes care of’, and they therefore love Him almost automatically; they’ve no control over that because they have Him. There, they have NO FREEWILL, and that’s where we’re given something that not even angels have on us, save for a select few (Satan and the Watchers, etc.).

Save for those angels, hell even those angels’ love for Him has not (to my knowledge) been tested as have us ours.

Our freewill becomes most important because now it’s time to choose God, or choose loneliness, misunderstanding, and all that comes with forsaking God of you love.

quote:Does god have a family? Children? A wife?

Umm… have you ever heard of angels??? Mary Magdalene (Magdalena)???

quote:Why is marriage important religiously speaking?

Because PEOPLE want it that way. That is, religious founders.

quote:Are we intended to procreate?

Smart girl…dumb question.

quote:Why should I listen to god?

Because you want to (it’s your freewill). But be aware, HE IS GOD. And no matter how you may feel about Him, it may be wise to always do as He wishes. Also, He is after all, God. I don’t think many people get such an opportunity to converse with Him, maybe that alone is good reason.

quote:Why is it important - religiously speaking - to be married before having sex and/or procreating?

I’ll quote a quite intelligent gentleman who I think has the answer to this… “Because PEOPLE want it that way. That is, religious founders.”

quote:What language does god speak?

I’ve pondered this very question, and I think it’s a language that’s not a language at all. In His domain feelings and thoughts can travel like sound. And when sound it made these feelings understandings, thoughts, etc, make up the words and all is understood.

But to humans ears it’ll probably be translated as music. That’s just my thoughts though, it might not make sense to others cause it’s too hard to explain.

I’ll address the rest later on, you should have spreaded this out, Lost. This is a freakin book. J

Postscript: O shyte I said, ‘Pondered’ sum1 shoot me plz.

Wow!! Great questions. And so many... must have taken 3 days to write this post cuz it took me 4 days to read half of it.

I know you said they were rhetoric, but as to a few.. (and i'm just planning on giving short answers).. And i'm gonna just address the "easy" ones...LOL.

1."Why is marriage important religiously speaking?"

religiously speaking: for personal and societal health, for an example of relationship with God

2."Are we intended to procreate?"

yes, most of us.

3."Why should I listen to god?"

why should you not listen to the Soveriegn?

4.Why is it important - religiously speaking - to be married before having sex and/or procreating?

Refer to questions 1,2 and 3.

5.How did god create man out of dust?

This is my opinion... He did it the same way He created ex Nihilo...only, He added "hands-on" personal touch to signify the uniqueness of man(kind) and to signify personal relationship....so the answer to this question is, I dont know http://www.totse.com/bbs/wink.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/wink.gif)

But isnt it interesting that we have "bits-o-dirt" in us (ie iron, zinc, aluminum, etc) and isnt it interesting that it was written thousands of years before science showed that we have these elements in us...yes, yes, i know...so do other creatures, but my point is the time in which it was written (frome the dust).

6.How long were these "days"?

normal everyday days...about 24 hours. Cant be like theistic evolutionist's think, because that would put death and suffering before the fall of man and the "curse". The only difference between theistic evolution and evolution (athiest, or what ever) is that it just adds God into the equation (random mutations + natural selection + lotsa time)

7.How could time be measured in days if there wasn't yet an Earth or a Sun?

Gen 1:1 In the begining God created the heavens and the earth

Gen 1:5 And God called the light day and the darkness He called night. And the evening and the morning were the first day

I think that these two verses are used to define what a day is. And also for the purpose of not "worshipping" the sun.

8.Who are the other "gods"?

Which part are you meaning...the 10 commandments or when God speaks to Himself?

In the commandments, it would mean "Dont worship anything or anybody, besides God"

When He speaks to/about Himself, that, inpart, is due to grammatical (masculine/ feminine, singular/plural), whereas, God being eternal, would be plural, and also there is the Trinity, which is One God, Three Persons.

9.Did god create all creatures in his image or just humans?

just humans

10.Then why do we all look different?

Different from each other, but we are still recognizable as humans i.e. God's children

11. Why are we all imperfect?

result of the "fall"

12.How hard is it for God to forgive me?

Repent and Ask, and you will recieve, in Jesus name.

13.Does he care about me?

Yes

14.Anybody?

Yes

15.Or does he care for all humans as a whole?

Yes

16.He must feel pain if he feels empathy and pain is weakness, so is he an all po9werful but unfeeling god or a weak but empathetic god?

Pain isnt always a weakness, even for humans.

17.Is it possible that god is really scientificly proveable?

Only if He allows it.

18.What does god want from me?

Your love.

19.What does Satan want from me?

I presume, nothing. He wants to keep you from God.

20.Why should I fear Satan when he is my servant, as a human?

Please explain why you think he is your servant.

21.AND 22.If I go to Hell do I become a demon? And if I go to Heaven do I become an angel?

No.

23.Is it assumed, religously, that humans - despite all faults - are (for the most part) inherently good?

Sorry, i think that -religeously- the opposite is understood.

24.What about things not mentioned in the bible? Do they just not exist? What about aliens?

Bananas arent mentioned, do they exist? But i doubt if aliens exist.

25.What is the cuntion...?

umm, excuse me. i cant find the meaning of that word in the dictionary...or maybe i have an eye inFUCKtion, and dont see it clearly.

26.If he was meant to wander in Nod how come he builds a city and has a family?

First, just because he built a city, it would not mean that he didnt still wander.

Second, the word that is translated as "city", could mean anything from city, fort, small tent village, etc... i did say i was going to try to keep the answers short.

27.Why does Lamech kill Cain?

Where in the Bible, do you find that Lamech (or anyone) killed Cain?

28.And was Seth Adams son or "some other seed"?

the term "seed" would be meaning "sperm and egg" union (zygote). And that seed was the result of Adam "knowing" his wife (Eve) again.

Gen 4:25(KJV) And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God,said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.

29.Is it possible that god created humans in a different plain of extence - one where he cannot physically exist in?

I suppose what you ask, might be somewhat possible. God can live anywhere (omnipresent), but as to a different "plane of existance", the apocrypha does leave the impression that after being kicked out of Eden, Adam and Eve were no longer what they had been. And they could not see, as they had been able to see.... it gave me the impression that the words being used, were describing a different "plane"

The First book of adam and Eve 4:8-10

Now, granted, this is just the impression i got. And the copy that i have is in English, so i cant check the word definitions. Nor do i have anything that lets me know anything about the manuscripts that it MIGHT have been taken from.

BUT Gen 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

Makes me wonder if the "coats of skins" really meant "skin".."flesh and blood" like we know it today.

PLEASE KNOW THAT THIS IS MY CONJECTURE , just a thought that i had, that i am only sharing. Not something that i believe to be true, just a possibility.

30.If Christians worship Jesus as god and the father and the holy spirit how can they be a monotheism?

It is an antimony. But, the doctrine is that although they are 3 seperate Persons, They are One.

31.What did Jesus say and/or do to prove that he's a god or moreover the one god?

Prophecy fulfilment

32.Who came up with the concept of the father, son, holy spirit triune god?

The concept is in the Bible, but kinda on the obscure side. Several passages denote each seperate Person, but two are fairly straight forward. Matt 28:19, and Luke 1:35. These were pointed out by Tertullian about 160 A.D.

There is much more to this (and all of these), but again..short answers.

LostCause

May I say again that the questions are (for the most part) rhetorical.

*responding to Metalligod*

"When speaking on deities, maybe it’s best to, STOP THINKING LIKE FLESH. Just a thought…"

- Speaking rhetorically from a perspective of someone who knows nothing of religion, I imagine someone might first imagine god as flesh. Especially since it says in Genesis that god walks and it also says that we are created in his image. So, I don't see it being very out of the blue for someone to assume god is flesh.

"'What does it do? Do you need god?'

No (well…yes and no), and I don’t think the idea/point/real question is or has ever been whether or not God is someone we NEED per say. It’s all about whether or not you/we ACCEPT and/or WELCOME God into the life He allows you/us to have."

- Yes, but the question is do we need god. If god didn't exist would we still exist? If we siezed to exist would god sieze to exist? More along those lines.

See, I'm trying to ask some new questions, instead of rehashing the old ones. I've already heard the answers to the old ones.

"No we don’t NEED Him, but without Him we’ll have no absolution, no solace, no real sense of purpose, no concrete understanding of all things. We’ll go on forever (maybe) in misery, misunderstanding, and tumultuousness without His ‘Light’."

- I suppose that's up for debate.

"'Is god good?'

What is ‘good’???"

- May be god is what good is.

"'What makes god god? Can something become a god or god?'

Well, I don’t concretely believe in God, however, I don’t deny that He exists. And it is my belief that if He does, the very question to which I am now responding is the one He’s aching to have answered for Himself. I believe the ‘Human Purpose’ is to help God get some idea of how He came into existence. By setting up an environment like the one from which He was contrived, only with matter."

- Nice one.

"'What kind of characteristics does god have?'

Umm…HE’S GOD"

- Way to not contribute.

"'What kind of abilities?'

Infinite (so I’ve heard) :sarcastic:"

- Ah.

"'Where is Heaven…'

I reckon, possibly an Ethereal realm."

- Well, where do you reckon this ethereal realm is?

"'…and Hell?'

"I believe Earth as well as many other material (physical) places are hell. The religious faiths from which this concept of hell was contrived suggests so. They state the ‘any’ or ‘places without the ‘Light of God’ is/are hell’."

- Okay, that's something.

"'What's so nice about Heaven?'

"Absolution, internal bliss, God’s presence, God, beautiful angels with glass voices( well, that’s the best way I can describe how I imagine their voices), clarity (or ‘Divine Comprehension’ as I call it)"

- This seems to be a common idea. But, what troubles me with it, is that a perfected existence wouldn't really be the perfect evironment for a human being, or any being with free will. Because if every choice you have is the right choice, your free will is pointless.

"'Does god have a family? Children? A wife?'

"Umm… have you ever heard of angels??? Mary Magdalene (Magdalena)???"

- Umm... you keep referring me as if I don't already know the answers. I said they were rhetorical! Anyways, it states, clearly, in Genesis that god has daughters and that the daughters of god intermarried with the sons of humans, specifically. And why in the world would you bring up Mary Magdalene?

"'Why is marriage important religiously speaking?'

"Because PEOPLE want it that way. That is, religious founders."

- Elaborate?

"'Are we intended to procreate?'

"Smart girl…dumb question."

- Rhetorical!!!

"'Why should I listen to god?'

"Because you want to (it’s your freewill). But be aware, HE IS GOD. And no matter how you may feel about Him, it may be wise to always do as He wishes. Also, He is after all, God. I don’t think many people get such an opportunity to converse with Him, maybe that alone is good reason."

- You warn me against not doing gods wishes but you don't tell me why I should do gods wishes. I think this is a common trend amongst all religions. Don't really explain why you're doing it, just convince people they're in danger if they don't do it.

Cheers,

Lost

Actually, it just took one night and a couple bowls of crystal methamphetamine. I wrote it out long hand first.

1."Why is marriage important religiously speaking?"

religiously speaking: for personal and societal health, for an example of relationship with God

I like the "example of relationship with God" part.

3."Why should I listen to god?"

why should you not listen to the Soveriegn?

Yea, why?

Gen 1:1 In the begining God created the heavens and the earth

Gen 1:5 And God called the light day and the darkness He called night. And the evening and the morning were the first day

Okay, one question answered, solidly.

8.Who are the other "gods"?

Which part are you meaning...the 10 commandments or when God speaks to Himself?

No. It states in Genesis that there are "gods" and that god is among other gods.

10.Then why do we all look different?

Different from each other, but we are still recognizable as humans i.e. God's children

Apparently you've never ridden public transportation.

*chuckles*

I made a funny.

Nevermind. Anyways, what about people who are born severely deformed so that they don't really look like humans? What of those "hobbit" creatures on CNN? What of the dog boys, covered from head to toe in fur? And people born with their legs on backwards so they walk like goats? What of pin heads, hair lips, and catapillar people?

12.How hard is it for God to forgive me?

Repent and Ask, and you will recieve, in Jesus name.

- I meant this in a more personal sense. I mean, when someone you love does something fucked up to you and they ask for forgiveness, you forgive them, right? But, sometimes it's harder to forgive than other times. So, I pose the question: how hard is it for god to forgive our mistakes?

16.He must feel pain if he feels empathy and pain is weakness, so is he an all po9werful but unfeeling god or a weak but empathetic god?

Pain isnt always a weakness, even for humans.

- Semantics...

"20.Why should I fear Satan when he is my servant, as a human?"

Please explain why you think he is your servant.

Because he's an angel and angels are servants to humans.

21.AND 22.If I go to Hell do I become a demon? And if I go to Heaven do I become an angel?

No.

- So what're we doing in Heaven?

"23.Is it assumed, religously, that humans - despite all faults - are (for the most part) inherently good?"

Sorry, i think that -religeously- the opposite is understood.

- Why are you apologizing? It's just a rhetorical question.

24.What about things not mentioned in the bible? Do they just not exist? What about aliens?"

Bananas arent mentioned, do they exist? But i doubt if aliens exist.

- One could say that because fruit is mentioned bananas are mentioned. Though, technically, bananas are grass.

"26.If he was meant to wander in Nod how come he builds a city and has a family?"

First, just because he built a city, it would not mean that he didnt still wander.

Second, the word that is translated as "city", could mean anything from city, fort, small tent village, etc... i did say i was going to try to keep the answers short.

- But, it does say that the city was a large city and that Cain settled down.

"27.Why does Lamech kill Cain?"

Where in the Bible, do you find that Lamech (or anyone) killed Cain?

- Genesis. Let me find it... Ah. Genesis 4:23 and 4:24.

I believe it implies that Lamech has killed Cain, though, I don't know. Perhaps I'm reading it wrong. That's the whole point of The Bible Via &Totse.

"Makes me wonder if the "coats of skins" really meant "skin".."flesh and blood" like we know it today."

- Interesting.

"30.If Christians worship Jesus as god and the father and the holy spirit how can they be a monotheism?

It is an antimony. But, the doctrine is that although they are 3 seperate Persons, They are One."

- Interesting still.

Yes you may say it as often as you wish. However, be advised that this site, at least this portion of it, is made to give people a chance to communicate by responding to the inquiries of others.

You may have stated it (your questions) as rhetoric, this doesn’t mean that someone won’t come along thinking it absolutely wondrous that one would ‘ponder such GREAT questions’.

It is was my own purpose for that day to prevent such inane reactions (for the most part) that would lessen the chances of my cursing someone I found to be absolutely incomparably stupid to any living thing, out.

And maybe even stop a tiny few of those idiots from being inspired to waste space on this site with their inane topics contrived from something that you stated as ‘rhetoric’ which they’ve found, again, intellectually ‘wondrous’.

-Lost quoting The Great Metalligod (Hubris, or rhetoric?): "When speaking on deities, maybe it’s best to, STOP THINKING LIKE FLESH. Just a thought…"

Lost: Speaking rhetorically from a perspective of someone who knows nothing of religion, I imagine someone might first imagine god as flesh. Especially since it says in Genesis that god walks and it also says that we are created in his image. So, I don't see it being very out of the blue for someone to assume god is flesh.-

I feel that I’ve already addressed the ‘rhetoric’ issue, however, this ‘flesh’ business makes NO SENSE. Sorry Hun, it simply doesn’t. Why would someone contrive the idea that God is Flesh, simply because we’re said to be made in His IMAGE???

If I were to make a painting in your image, or mine would you then assume that it’s flesh? Just wondering Love (oh shit, there I go again).

The fact that a being walks, talks, pisses, shits, has anal sex with donkeys/people/ect, or anything else that man can do, proves in NO way that they’re of the same material we are. Does it? For your sake, I’ll stay in the realm of the flesh since you like it so.

Is it not true that Parrots talk? Is it not true that dogs and cows shit? Is it not true that monkeys piss? Is it not true that a horse would butt-fuck any being that would allow it to do so? (Keep in mind that these questions are rhetoric, for the most part anyway)

Now, after answering any or all of the above, is it a wise idea to base the your idea on the way something looks or the make-up of their being based on the knowledge of a pinch of their total capabilities????? <<<<<(Not rhetoric, Love)

If someone where to say to you that they saw something running after people, knocking them down and stomping them to death, would you assume that this thing is human, or elephant based on the information given?

Or if they were to tell you that they saw someone walking down the street picking flowers only this person didn’t look like anyone they’ve ever saw. Would you find it safe to assume that it’s a god or God, or someone dressed up? When the fact of the matter is that MAN is known to make ROBOTS in its own IMAGE.

However, these things are NOT human, and are definitely NOT FLESH. Why assume for a second that the supposed god whom made us is of the same material?

The thing you said about Genesis only supports my statements about making ascertainments based on very little information. Yeah Genesis says what it says, but the REST of the Book describes a whole other array of things on this, God, character which Genesis doesn’t and which gives enough info to a person with the dimmest mental faculties for them to make better ascertainments than those which you set forth.

It gives enough information on this matter that allows one to gather that WE ARE NOT OF THE SAME MATERIAL OF WHICH GOD IS CREATED.

quote:Lost: "'What does it do? Do you need god?'

Metalligod: No (well…yes and no), and I don’t think the idea/point/real question is or has ever been whether or not God is someone we NEED per say. It’s all about whether or not you/we ACCEPT and/or WELCOME God into the life He allows you/us to have."-

Lost: Yes but the question is do we need god.

Lost, think hard…now think harder. Woman, I swear I answered that question, I believe I said: No (well…yes and no)’. The conclusion was that we don’t need God in our lives (here in the flesh), but in our after lives, if we have em, there’s a great possibility that we’ll need Him.

quote:If god didn't exist would we still exist?

If God didn’t exist any longer I don’t see any logical or illogical reason that our lives would be concluded. Lest He made it His final act to wipe us out as He went. Now if it’s true that God exists now, and you’re saying ‘what if He NEVER existed’ then, no, if God didn’t exist we wouldn’t exist. Because He would never have made our kind.

quote:If we siezed to exist would god sieze to exist?

No, and I say this again because it make no logical nor illogical sense to me that His existence is contingent on ours, or else He would never have existed without OUR coming into being FIRST.

quote:See, I'm trying to ask some new questions, instead of rehashing the old ones. ready heard the answers to the old ones.

O, I understand completely, because I’ve felt that very way for a LONG LONG time. But as I’ve said, I’ve already given you my reasons for responding the way I did. Some of the questions were simply not well thought out, and one who is not as mentally equipt as you or I will use those questions to fuel a long line of BS posts, the posts that really piss me off.

For instance, here’s you question about Gods’ dependency on us: God’s a fucking looser, He needs me(us) more than I(we) need Him; Get off my dick God; NO God I won’t help you live; I’m going to destroy all humans to kill God; Maybe God needs us to survive.

And I can tell just what the beginning paragraph of that last one will look like:

‘I’ve been thinking, and maybe God, or the gods created humans because they were dying out and so they somehow feed off of our belief in them. And maybe God was one of these gods, so He scared man into believing in only Him so that He could become the most powerful god and the others would die out.

That’s why the bible stresses so strictly the ideals that only God should be worshipped. Because God fears that belief in the other gods will resurrect them and they’ll try to destroy Him’

Or some bologna, like that. I know, because years ago I was lame enough to write something a little more intelligent but basically the same thing.

Metalligod: "No we don’t NEED Him, but without Him we’ll have no absolution, no solace, no real sense of purpose, no concrete understanding of all things. We’ll go on forever (maybe) in misery, misunderstanding, and tumultuousness without His ‘Light’."

Lost: I suppose that's up for debate.

Well think of it this way, if you were now physically dead and your sould is now roaming ‘cause you’re immortal. And you have nothing before you but a vast darkness before you or the earth which is basically all you really know. Earth, a place to which you can’t return you can’t effect, you can’t really communicate with.

You might start to feel great anger and resentment towards your maker, and I don’t mean birth parents. These emotions will swell in you and become multiplied if you already resented God from when you where physical. To know that He’s giving you little thought, or more realistically, NO THOUGHT AT ALL, despite the fact that He made you, and everything bad that you’ve experienced is because of His doing.

To feel that the bad trumbs the good that you’ve experienced to want justice and not get it, and again on top of all this, HE SIMPLY DOESN’T CARE.

With time these feelings will again, only grow and intensify, but you know that your only chance at happiness is to forgive Him for whatever ways you feel that He’s wronged you and to know that with this forgiveness and acceptance of Him.

He wont be offering any apologies or special greeting nor justification, for you or what He’s done to you. Your only chance at true happiness is to simply let it go and Love Him unconditionally and never expect ANYTHING from Him, but just feel grateful that you’re with Him. Just think on that then tell me how you’d feel.

Maybe it is up for debate, but I’m quite sure I’m right, even though I know that not everyone would feel such a way about Him. But you see, then there’s TIME. It won’t be your friend.

-Lost: May be god is what good is.

Then maybe you’ve answered your own question, perhaps?

-Metalligod: "Absolution, internal bliss, God’s presence, God, beautiful angels with glass voices( well, that’s the best way I can describe how I imagine their voices), clarity (or ‘Divine Comprehension’ as I call it)"

Lost: This seems to be a common idea. But, what troubles me with it, is that a perfected existence wouldn't really be the perfect evironment for a human being, or any being with free will. Because if every choice you have is the right choice, your free will is pointless.-

You misinterpret my meanings. I meant only that once you’re with God nothing else would really matter, you’ll be happy in heaven, but with God comes the true bliss. I think heaven is a place flooded with His Light.

And the best way I can describe His Light is like this: I think He sort of uses it as a drug so that He’s not constantly hounded with wisehs and questions. Once His Light goes pouring into you nothing else seems to matter it’s like a SUPER KAMEHAMEHA ORGASM in a non-sexual way.

I was trying to get that across to you when I spoke of the angels’ freewill to love Him. That’s something they don’t have, cause they’re ‘Blinded by His Light’. He like makes you love Him, crave Him, need Him, and without Him it feels like a cold turkey withdrawal from heroin.

NO PPL, I DON’T KNOW WANT HEROIN WITHDRAWAL FEELS LIKE NOR ANY OTHER WITHDRAWAL (save for sexual withdrawal, that’s the suxur and not in the good way)

All of my lame jokes aside, I again, think it acts drug-like, His Light that is. But I didn’t elab enough on the angel thing to make you understand because I didn’t want to write so much that it deterred you and others from reading it. My fault.

I’ll finish this l8er. But for now I have to attend to Those Who MUST Be Kept. : )

P.S: Don't ever forgot that I am a JACKASS, this I happily admit to. So don't think that I'm trying to be nasty or call you stupid no matter how rash my statements may seem at times. You should know by now that I speak like this all the time.

I speak to you ppl online, the way I speak to my friends (well...almost, this is just the tip of it ppl), I'm a sarcastic, synical, patronizing bastard. I speak to you like I speak to them for the same reason, I can get away with it. Them Because they're my friends and you all because I'll most likely NEVER see any of U. HAHA

Lost, your post gave me a headache bro! I tried to make it through all those questions, but I just couldn't.

It looks like someone might have tried though!

I would like to ask if there was honey involved? No offense, it just brought back memories of the Hive.

I don't think of the existence of deities in general as something that you can be aware of with the senses. I think of everything on a level of personal connections with a deity. God is in a man giving money to a beggar on the street, he's in all the people giving to charity, he's in everything good. Therefore God IS good. Like you said... http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif) The kingdom of heaven is a state of eternal peace (in my thoughts). You catch a glimpse of the magnificence of heaven when you do something kind for someone else simply out of the goodness of your heart. When joy overwhelms you completely you are in heaven. Death is the release from a boundless plane, a sort of limbo if you will. After death we either experience life devoid of suffering or we live bound by pain and hate.
