That aperently seems to be the question. So, if I believe that there is a god, and nothing more... like I am sure there is a higher power but I don't exactly believe in the bible or quran or things like that... what would I be concidered?

Deist?

At least by the old definition.

Well, seeing as how an atheist is one who simply lacks belief in any god, I suppose then that you would be a theist.

Meh, deists are more in to the idea that god created the universe then abandoned it, and theists are open to believing in more that one god and/or personal gods. (i think)

I believe there "Might" be a higher consciousness but what makes you so sure there actually is?

To believe something or not to believe should not be the "Choice" like a coin toss.

What you don't know doesn't have to require any belief. Thought is much better to cultivate.

Every man should reach a point where he honestly looks at the root of why it is he believes what he does. Most often he finds he has no real reason to believe as he does.

Doubt is a good quality. It is always the first armour of defense against foolishness.

Doubt a lot, believe little.

I would say you are simply a "theist", discounting universalism, i don't think there's really a church for that type of belief.

You're right that Deists believe in a creator god, but whom doesn't interact with his creation. Do you believe that?

MoonTalker, I suppose i agree with you, but you seem to be making a case for agnosticism, which i disagree with.

Also you were a bit vague but i know many christians who believe (as i do) that they feel the presence of god in their life. That may not be a logical argument that i can pass on to anyone but it is definitely a reason for me to believe. What do you think of that?

I am going to have to do a little research here.
