I believe in God and Jesus and I try to live my life in a certain way. But I absoltuly am not a christian or catholic or orthodox. I do not classify myslef as anything. All these demnominations and even different religions. All lot of the problems in the world are because of different people believing in different religionsand they feel that must fight for thier religion. Like in Northern Ireland or in the middle east.

I find it so damn frustrating that all these religions are giving God and and people who believe in Him a bad name. Religion never helped anyone God did. You were not saved by Christianity you were saved by God.

If you believe in Mohammed or Buhhda or whatever then say you believe and follow that person or God's ideas. Dont say you are Muslim or Buhhdist or Christian because that is what is dividing and hurting humanity. We are people first we must help and protect each other before we put up these barries called religion that divide us.

I encourage everyone who reads this to pick up a bible , quran ,torah or whatever else or even read all of them. Read it for yourself and then you deciede what is right and what is wrong and talk to other people of all kinds of different beliefs. Dont huddle together with only Christians or only Muslims and then talk about it.

As long as people associate religoin with God and associate religion with these wars in Iraq and Israel they are going to associate the wars with God and that is not right. Its not Gods fault for the Crusades. Its not Allah's fault for all these killings made in his name. People use religion as a crutch and that is wrong.

So when someone asks you what you are just tell him what you believe and what some classification and give your own reason for what you said and what you think not what some Sunday school teacher or some Pope or preist said.

I dont know why I wrote this and it might not make sense I just had this urge to write it and the words kind of flowed so I hope it makes sense.

Hm, I kinda see what u mean. If you asked someone from a random religion to open there holy book and see if they fallowed every belief in there... i doubt they would come through... but then again there is probably a religion for your non-religious beliefs...

Yah I dont really know what my point is I was just rambling. But I think the main problem I have is religion was create to control people and its giving God a bad name. I think it seperates people from each other. I say forget religion just beleieve what you think is right. But the danger with that is just believing what you want to believe and sort of taking the easy way out. Read as many holy books as you can and use your conscience and you mind to deciede what is right and what isnt and if nothing is right then become and atheist. But calling yourself an atheist is again seperating yourself from others in a sense. So just say you dont believe in a God.

This argument really pisses me off. Religion wasn't created to control people but to explain away all the mysteries that man found in the world. Questions such as how did we get here and what happens when we die?

A byproduct of a common culture is that people are controlled, it was not the aim of the religion.

Yeah dude, Jesus' teachings weren't really harmonious to the people in power at the time. If the romans were trying to control people with christianity, they could've found a much better way of doing it.

I tried to find linguistic consistency in Lucky's post and ended up crying blood.

The sooner you realize that all religions and the ideas behind them are man-made, and they are mere refections of ourselves and what we hope to become, the easier it will be, trust me. It makes it a little bit easier to understand this world we live in. Just my opinion, though. http://www.totse.com/bbs/wink.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/wink.gif)
