View Full Version : Evolution v.s creationism it all really doesnt matter
Does it matter if you believe in evolution or creationism. it all doesnt really matter where we came from or how we came into being all that matters is that we are hear now. We should be focusing on what we are doing with our life and living a good life. For some (including me) living a good life involves believing in God and for others it doesnt. In my opinion you dont need to believe in a God to get into heaven. Living a good life is like accepting God without you really knowing it. According to jesus in the bible thats all you really need. And if you live a good life you are doing what jesus taught us you are in a way accepting what he taught.
I dont know what I am saying just sort of rambling on. In the end though it doesnt matter how we got here what is important is what we are doing with our lives.

Very good point.
what is the christian's notion of heaven if not bliss? what is buddha's nirvana if not ecstasy? what is scientific diligence if not the exercise of fairness? what is philosophical reasoning if not an implicit faith in the potential of correct awareness?
all of these perspectives are relevant to humanity not because of the institutional forms they take, but because of the emotional states that they espouse and foster.
You're right, it doesn't matter what you personally believe in. Just as long as those who believe in creationism don't try to turn our kids into morons by shoving lies down their throats and telling them it's for their own goods. Just as long as they aren't part of the biological sciences that use the theory of evolution to help people in the here and now. Where we came from does matter quite a bit, it allows us to use animals to test drug effects on instead of humans, since we are related to them. Understand how we are related and we can better understand the safety of drugs without putting people in danger (one of the many examples).

What conception of Heaven are you talking about?

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Where in the bible does it say what you're talking about?
I'm sorry. I think my view of christ is more liberal and more accepting that many people's view, but i cannot tolerate people just saying that Jesus said "whatever, be a good person and you'll be rewarded" because he simply did not say that.
You have a beautiful view of the world, but i don't think its the correct one and i don't think your ideas hold up when compared with the teachings of the bible.

I think we can both agree that athesits and people of any religion can live good lives. We both then can also agree that all the good in the world comes from God.
So if you are living a good life then you are living a Godly life and then God is a part of your life because all the good comes from God. So then you would have Jesus or God in your life you just dont really know it . Jesus said that you need God to get into heaven. He did not say that you need to be consciously aware of His presence in your life. All you need is His presence in your life.

Just to be a smart arse...
"And anyone who gives one of my most humble followers a cup of cool water, just because that person is my follower, will surely be rewarded." - Matt 10:42
