Well it's fairly evident that religion is/was in every single culture (let's go back to pre-Christian days); most cultures had a different religion which they of course revered to be correct.

Just so happens, one day Jesus comes along, says he's the Son of God (let's not debate whether he is or isn't, that's for another day), and we have 2000 years of Christian imperialism.

But the question is: mustn't we inherently doubt Christianity because of the existence of these other religions? Isn't it foolish to assert dominance of yours when other people halfway across the world have equally compelling visions, communications with god(s), et cetera? Why is yours more valid?

Yes, part of the reason I'm Agnostic.

For some reason Christians think that God would not condem people to Hell for living in the wrong place but don't think he would reveal himself to anyone outside the Middle East.

Religion provides a path toward an understanding. The ultimate truth.

The 'higher' or 'the all', or whatever label ones religion provides for it, is in itself a true 'existance' existing beyond the literature, outside of anything one can be taught by following set paths alone.

Accepting a life of religion will provide nothing but blind faith in all but your own experience.
