I want to know who else thinks religion is funny?
I'm just want to get an idea if I'm the only on that thinks all this stuff is crazy
at night I fall asleep to this religious AM station...I can't help but think these people are nuts...
talking about experiences with "god"

no, you are not the only one that thinks this stuff is crazy. But just because you think its funny, does not mean you are right and religious persons are wrong.

Here's something I heard on a Christian radio station driving home from college (I live in Nebraska, a Bible Belt State):
"The pressure to try "being gay" is greater than ever for today's kids. Homosexuality and sex are glorified so much in the media and TV, that kids are starting to get the idea that it's "OK to be gay."
Kids are starting to presure other kids into trying "being gay": (kid's voice comes on) "Hey, John, if you like having sex the regular way, maybe you'd like to try a different way. Come on!"
Talk to your kids about being gay and how to avoid it for life, just like drugs and alcohol. Trust us, your kids will thank you later."
I literally could not stop laughing.

Reminds me of that South Park episode with the Queer Eye guys. Do people think that the world is like that?

ya i think its pretty funny too. " I walked with god," "I spoke to god and asked him what I should do, and he sent me such and such message..." jebus.....take some credit for your own doing. thats what cracks me up about bible thumpers. When something goes wrong they (usually) place blame on themselves and ask for gods help. when something goes good, they thank god for it. Karl Marx said it best, "Religion is the opiate of the masses." I'm not really sure if that applies here, but it is true.
I get annoyed when people talk about their personal experiences with god. I get even more annoyed when they say "God has a plan for me." I also hate the idea of prayer. If they don't get what they pray for, they claim it was gods' plan. If they do, they think god went out of his way to help them. If god didn't give a fuck about the 6 million jews who died during the holocaust, then why would you think he would go out of his way to help a single person dying in the hospital that someone is praying for. And when they pray for someone during a surgery and it goes well, they think their prayers helped the patient rather then the doctors. I get very annoyed by most religious people.

I agree with all of that.

Although i dont know the beliefs that many of the 'managment people', in the company i work for, hold (i think most worship the god of money and prestige). They do the opposite... if things go bad, they blame someone or something else. If things go especially good, even though the problems were clearly fixed by 'hourly' people, they take the credit... not only among their bosses, but even in their own mind... i call this 'big head syndrom'. Dont get me wrong, they can take all the credit they want (as far as i'm concerned), i just think it is very laughable.
When i was in the Army, my 1st sgt "preached" taking the blame and the credit, where it was due.
When ever a cult makes the news (for killing themselves or whatever) I allways find it funny when christians say that they were a bunch of loonies, and somehow think there religon is more logical.
