Im a christain and a stoner but i still find this funny:
Abraham saw the burning bush as God was talking to him through it right? I think he may have been burning some bush (sneaky teaky) so he think he did. (yes i know that weed wont cause hallucinations" That or he perhaps found somthing similiar to peyote.
I find it funny to even comptemplate that "father" abraham would use mind altering substances. Much like a shroomer theory that manna ( you know the food that the isrealites ate in th desert) could have been shrooms (white, fluffy) and are intended as a medium for communicating with God.
Be creative i stole this joke ,essentially, have you heard any thing simmilar if so feel free to share.

I find it funny that as a christian, you think Abraham was the one who spoke to a burning bush.

Wasn't the Burning Bush supposedly an acacia? It's intriguing that this is a natural POTENT source of 5-MEO-DMT, a chemical that is well known for instigation of higher dimensional communication...

He he... That gives a whole new definition to the word burning bush http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif)
But can acacia just be picked up and be eaten/smoken/etc to trip? Doesn't it need long and frustrating extraction and preparation? If not it's quite possible this is what was meant in OT.
And it is known jews used hashis maybe not to get mystical connections, but still...
PS. I think mentioning I'm a christian makes my post more amusing...

Fasting for long periods of time, and meditation near water will cause hallucinations as well.

Do you need to fast to halucenate while meditating near water? I am tempted to try this when the water melts.

Yes, you do need to fast. He is speaking about a technique Jewish mystics used to "connect" to God.
You can do it too. Starve yourself, eat only water and very little bread if you have to for, oh say, a week. When you're not doing anything else, and all you should be doing is walking or meditating, then meditate more.
It's kinda like the oasis apparations that are so cliche in cartoons in the desert.
And no, you don't have to be near water. It's the fasting and meditation that causes the hallucination, it's just that in nature, running water is usually found in a peaceful setting.
God, I can't believe I just explained that. Here bro, a much easier path to your sought hallucinations..........

Well, shit, I looked up acacia and the effects of 5-MeO-DMT and, I'll be damned, it's psychoactive. It says that it needs to be freebased, though, or else it would burn up so the only way the burning bush could be psychoactive would be if it were never put out. Either that or the Bible is lying and he really just took some bud to the mountain for relaxation and, while having some uber-munchies, ate one strange mushroom and had a one-on-one with the big G-Man. From Half Life.
