the dove is a symbol of pease and also it also represents the Holy Spirit.
Not sure about the yin/yng thing.
The ying yang is a sign of egaulity and balance. This can mean balance in life, nature, or something else.
As for watching Chritian tv, don't do it. Alot of people get the wrong idea about Christianity by seeing the big haired, money craving bitches saying that they love Jesus and stuff.
Don't judge Chritianity on these people, we hate them too.

lol thanks. you actually made me think for a second. i consider myself to be somewhat of a hippy, but i really dont like the stereotypical long haired un-washed bare foot crazy old hippies.
i do know what the yin yang means, but not this weird yin yang-type thing i saw.
i have one more question. why are the doves a sign of peace? why do they have any significance at all? i thought animals didnt have souls in christians opinions.

I understood what yin yang was, but not as a Christian symbol.

Just as in anything else, there are some good and some bad... dont lump them all together.

Incompletely plagerized from Sacred Origins of Profound Things Charles Panati
The dove and olive branch symbolized the end of a period of strife and the imagery originates in the biblical account of Noah and the Flood. Gen. 8:10-11
The dove was very common in the Near East. It is a shy, gentle, monogamous bird that was often used by OT prophets as a symbol of peace and purity.

plagerized? you mean i plagerized something? i dont read anything about religons, good or bad, so i have no clue what i might have plagerized.
now let me ask you this, why do christians think animals have no souls? obviously animals show signs of intelligence which would suggest they have a counsciousness or 'soul'. dont start in on "because the bible says..", i want to know what you as a person thinks. given the evidence at hand, why do you (this applys to any christian) think animals have no souls?

Nope, i was saying that i copied, right out of the book that i gave the title of... but not word for word because some of it was just filler... i didnt think that you wanted to know what different kinds of doves were in the middle east...
somebody on TOTSE asked once, "why does apologetics need so much more words than the original"...(or something like that).. I thought i was fairly clear that i copyied, but after you thought i was accusing you of copying... i guess we have our answer... LOL oh well, guess i might have to go back to writing longer posts...LOL.
As for animals having souls, (going with short answer here, and only from memory, so i might be very wrong)... if i remember, there are two different kinds of souls. Some animals do have souls. They are the ones in mentioned in Genisis as having "nephish" (sp?).. the breath of life (memory again?).
I'm to lazy to look it up for you right now... does anyone else know about this? Digital? Eil? Bishop? Zman? Hex? .. Anyone??

I dont know where the dove came into association with peace, but it's pretty old. The term 'warhawk' for someone inclined to goto war, and 'dove' for a peace loving hippy has been used since the american revolution. not sure if the religious connatation (sp) came first.
