i've looked at that part of revalations since i was a little kid, and i think i might have it figured out. i've always tried to connect the "seven heads" thing to the US government, but never could. but then i realized, there are seven continents in the world. so i think, the beast is really the world, and it means we're going to destroy ourselves. and i know there are alot more signs, but i think they'll eventuall surface.
I must say i really have no opinion of this do to the fact that I haven't read revolations much, but it is an interesting thought none the less. It made me think.

Considering 666 is the number of mankind, the beast is man and our creations; we are the beast, and our 7 heads are the continents we have decided to divide the world into. The beast is merely a representation of our self-destructive and divisive nature. We are our own worst enemy. Aside from the dogma within the Bible, it's a great source of philosophical truth.

Rev. 12:3-4 (NIV)
3. Then another sign appeared in heaven: an enormous red dragon with seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns on his heads.
4. His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born.
Is this what you are refering to? Your idea is interesting but i'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you.
My question is: If the Beast is the world, then why, in vs 4, does it say that, "His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth." ?
Like i said, it is interesting and thanks for the thought.
according to revelations, not even jesus will know the exact time of the apocalypse. the book even warns of false messiahs who lie about its impending arrival.

What dogma? Most of the things people have problems with are catholic baggage.

xtreem, that was the verse i was referring to. it also said something about some woman, being on top of the beast, with a crown with 12 stars on it, and it said she would have a gold cup, with the blood of the innocent in it. and it always talks about the beast being in the ocean. as far as his tail knocking a star down, i dont know. im not saying for sure that im right, but this is the best theory i've been able to come up with. but like i said, if i am right, the other signs will eventually surface.
and to everybody, you cant take the bible literally. everything is a metaphor. i dont believe in magic on earth. and i dont think anybody should actually believe that a real dragon is going to rise out of the ocean, and i dont think thats what people need to be looking for. i believe, everything on earth is physical, and god doesn't let anything on the earth that isn't just as vulnerable as i am. thats why i dont believe in spirits or ghost. but i do believe everybody has a soul, but their soul cant at all effect the physical world.
EDIT: xtreem, what you said about the EARTH, got me thinking. i looked in a bible dictionary, and the earth back then, didn't mean- planet. it basically meant the soil. so earth back then meant dirt. again, im not saying im right, only god knows for sure.

If you ever read the book "Lord of the Flies",
Simon one of the character says, "We are the beast" and the book is about some kids on island reflecting the world and human nature.

Dogma would be the whole load of Jesus' ressurection, the virgin Mary, Noah's Flood, Heaven and Hell, 6 day creation, the Trinity, and all that other stuff that are simply beliefs that hold no evidential nor observable truth.
