Does god exist? What is your opinion?

Something inspired all these religions, whether it would be fit to call God is another matter.

Does some supernatural being called "god" exist? What is your reasoning?

The topic title was "Does god exist?"

The topic starter, started the topic with, "Does god exist? What is your opinion?"

Just wondering which question you are responding to. So is "no" your definitive answer, or your opinion?

"Does some supernatural being called 'god' exist?"

Maybe.

"What is your reasoning?"

Currently, there is no evidence, but I like to think that anything is possible, no matter how improbable.

That still doesn't answer my question. Before everything, including the big bang and the universe what was there? who made the universe? God? But then who made god?

i think the real question here is: who cares?

Do I exist?

I(presupposing there is an "I") think we need to start small and work our way up.

At the moment, I don't think it's possible to know for sure.

However, I've taken a leap of faith to believe there is something.

God can not exist. I do not believe that a "god" exists.

Yes.

i agree with Dr. Anton LaVey and there is no "God"..if ever there is one,he is evil.

God exists. Let us kill all the people who made him and he won't exist anymore. Oh man, an all out open war on religion would be so badass. I would give the word "rape" divine meanings.

Hi546122: "That still doesn't answer my question. Before everything, including the big bang and the universe what was there? who made the universe? God? But then who made god?"

Except... you didn't ask those questions until your most recent post. You can't add new questions... then wonder why they have yet to be answered.

Anyway, at this point in time, no human is qualified to answer any of those questions.

The Sneaky Wolf also has a point. Are we even sure enough of ourselves to begin questioning the nature of the entire Universe?

"God can not exist."

Pretty bold statement, IndicaSativa. However, you contradict yourself with your very next statement. There's a rather large difference between believing, and actually knowing the truth.

Tyrant: Sunsets are a beautiful scene in nature. However, this only leads me to one conclusion - Nature is beautiful.

Zurdo: Just going to throw another quote out there, from one of his songs. "God is a concept, by which we measure our pain" - John Lennon

Yes, Tyrant, I know what you said.

I'd like you to explain, if you will, what exactly that means to you. What do your "reborn eyes" signify in your mind?

Tyrant

Eyes that belong in a man that reaffirms life in his every breath, because of an explicit awareness - not knowledge - that the whole world was created for him... that he truly was the meaning of the whole earth.

A man affected by the direct experience of the sublime force of the world alien to the common, modern, and banal man.

A man who knows with his full soul the meaning of the ruins amongst which he walks.

Thanks for sharing. (not sarcasm)

However, I'm curious as to how this supposed state of "enlightenment" leads you to the conclusion that there is a God.

Also, why do you claim this enlightenment to begin with? How can you be so certain that you see the 'truth' or 'reality', whatever you wish to call it.

I only ask since some of your statements seem to assume a seemingly higher level of intellect or awareness.

"A man affected by the direct experience of the sublime force of the world alien to the common, modern, and banal man."

Maybe I'm totally missing the point here, but then again, I haven't slept much in the past few days.
