Well I am quite frightened by the thought of heaven and hell.
I mean, think about it, most of us would go to Hell, for enternity. I mean forever is a freaky thought.
So is Heaven and hell real? Well some believe that its a hoax set up by the Church to scare the people into faith.
But its in the Bible (Ive never read it but Im sure it is)
I do not follow God, goto church, pray and I have definately broken some of those 10 commandements.
Should I be scared? Its hard to say no, considering I have absoloutely no idea on this topic.
So basically im asking, is there a heaven and hell, I would ask in the God section, but I thought Id try here first.
peace..

karl marx said it best..."religion is the opiate of the masses." it gives people something to believe in when life is shitty...particularly the lower class. take a look at the 10 commandments...if you were the leader of a society 2000 years ago, wouldnt you try to find a way to keep your citizens acting in a civil way? thats all the 10 commandments are, a good guide for living civily (sp). I think its great if people live by them, but idont believe they were the words of god....I wouldnt sweat it...be a moral guy, dont fuck people over too hard and try not to fuck anyone over who doesnt deserve it. If there is a heaven, not many people would make it in if breaking hte rules would keep you out.

dude please. dont worry about a thing. the christians are way off in so many aspects of spirtuality its just rediculous.
theres positive and negitive. all our actions determine who we are and where we stand in the whole scope of things. no being is sending souls to suffer forever based on a few lousy mistakes they made here on earth. did you ever think about all these peopl with mental disorders who cant even tell right from wrong? most human beings are more rational than the christian god, so i imagen the real deal would be much more rational aswell.
i could rape and murder every living thing on earth and not go to 'hell'. the worst that would happen, is whn i die, i see and feel how all my actions affected everyone else. then id have to live with it. end of story.

The religion is a trap. It's a way of hooking you into a system of spiritual, mental, and financial subservience. Once I get you hooked on the religion... and the leaders, the leaders will go along with it because they get a cut of the collection which goes directly to them, but what it effectively means is that you have pledged or forefeited your independence and wealth to these Churches/Mosques/Synagogues/Temples/whathaveyou. That is, you give us money when the collection plate comes around, and we'll pay you back when you're dead while bombarding you with religious programming in the meantime. And you just get deeper and deeper into the religion.
Indoctrination becomes so severe in some cases that the religious institutions can instruct and direct it's follwers on what to do, how to vote, who to vote for, what party to support, what products they should buy, how much of their income they should tithe (usually something like 10%, but more in some cases), etc. So what they have done here is established a form of mind control via. mental conditioning within the congregation. They say they're helping you, but what they're actually doing is trying to turn you into an agent in which to facilitate their investment of taking the time to go through the motions and indoctrinate you into the folds.
And the great thing is, since they're offering them a reward after they're dead, nobody can come back demanding a refund and exposing fraud. It's a rather ingenious system. You give me your time, money, and political influence through the power of your individual vote, and in turn I give you nothing under the illusion that you're actually getting something.
And I don't have to prove any of it. I can just spout off rhetoric and sophistry, denounce any skeptics as agents of or hapless victims to a fabricated opposing force which is percieved as real (ex. Satan), and tell them that they need a 'spiritual revivial'/to 'see the light', and other assorted anti-skeptic propaganda.

When these very religious people die, they would be pretty pissed off that there aint a heaven and hell.

Isn't God benevolent and forgiving? Going by that, techincally you should have nothing to worry about.

if totseans go to hell, satan would kick us out from fear of being overturned
Usually when children are taught at a young age about religion, they would subconsciously suppor tthe very first religion they understand. I did, and that would be christianity. Of course, I was "debugged" and gained more clarity of the afterlife... I took the red pill http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif).

I don't think anyone should stop their search for Spiritual gowth just because the standard religions and such are complete fuckwits...
If you are farmiliar with Christianity, but don't like the way the Church and such are throwing their weight about, but you still hold The Bible in quite high regard.
Then may I suggest, if not just for passing interest, looking into the Christadelphians...
Check out the way they debunk the Church and sort out some mass disinformation about The Bible...Quite good:
http://www.bibleweb.org/gospel/TruthAbout.htm
Just because religion has gone to the pits, I don't think The Bible itself should be thrown out the window...There are many good teachings in that little book that you never thought to read, 'cause you thought it was all to do with religion...

After reaccepting God before his death some murder was forgiven and accepted into Heaven, I think there is something in the Bible about that..

I'm not to big on the Bible. But I know one thing it says that if you even thought of doing something bad i.e. killing someone, lusty for a friends girlfriend you are already guilty of doing it. Thus almost all of us have logically killed someone. something like that. God is somewhat like a mindreader. He is like the ultimate big brother.

First of all, wrong forum.
Second of all, in Judaism (which is what all Christian religions are based on) Heaven and Hell aren't places. They are descriptions of states of being. Heaven being closest to God and Hell being furthest from God.
Most Jews consider that to be one of the biggest flaws in Christianity. - Their mistranslation of what Heaven and Hell are, because according to Judaism you can be in Heaven or Hell while alive.
Cheers,
