Does not every religion feel as though their path is right? If not, why would the follow it, knowing full well that their goals and beleifs are false?

Muslims are no more guilty of this then any other religion or belief system on earth.

On a side note. Many religions feel as though its not their place to "Play God" and decide wheather or not another group is "right" or "wrong", they beleive that its up to their "Creator" (or whatever their belief entails about judgement, if any at all) to decide the fate of all.

Muslims beleive their way is right...sure, and even if they preach that their way is the only way, its not lack of respect, its what they beleive. The lack of respect part is soley opinion.

Yeah. And under Islamic rule, people of other religions are allowed to worship their respective gods.

Sorry to bump an old topic...

Muslims in the days of the Prophet Muhammed were ordered to not kill any Christians or Jews, because they all worshiped the same god. The Christians on the other hand had the Crusades that were sent to kill non-Christians and take over any non-christian land.

- Muslims must make war on the infidels (unbelievers) who live around them (Sura 9:123).

- Muslims are to be "ruthless to unbelievers" (Sura 48:29).

- Allah loves those who "fight for his cause" (Sura 61:3).

Anyone who fights against Allah or renounces Islam in favor of another religion shall be "put to death or crucified or have their hands and feet cut off alternative sides" (Sura 5:34).

- Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him. Sahih Al-Bukhari (9:57)

- Slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush. (Koran 9:5)

- I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, Smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger tips of them. (Koran 8:12)

No they don't.

Read the whole thing: Make war on those who gird you about. Not just non-believers.

quote:- Muslims are to be "ruthless to unbelievers" (Sura 48:29).

"Those who are with [Muhammed] are strong against Unbelievers, but compassionate amongst each other." -- Don't take it out of context.

quote:- Allah loves those who "fight for his cause" (Sura 61:3).

This is just plain wrong. This passage says "practice what you preach," basically.

quote:Anyone who fights against Allah or renounces Islam in favor of another religion shall be "put to death or crucified or have their hands and feet cut off alternative sides" (Sura 5:34).

Wrong passage. 34 says that if a non-believer repents, God is merciful. 33, however, says what you were saying except without 'renounces Islam,' that is never mentioned.

quote:- Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him. Sahih Al-Bukhari (9:57)

I don't have that on hand, but I'll look later.

quote:- Slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush. (Koran 9:5)

That is in relation to treaties broken and betrayal by the 'pagans.'

quote:- I will instill terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, Smite ye above their necks and smite all their finger tips of them. (Koran 8:12)

That is a message to the angels telling them to smite people, not PEOPLE to smite people.

In short, stop taking shit out of context, you look like an idiot.

Being Islamic, I can tell you that we do. Basically, we believe the same exact thing as Christians and Catholics, and kinda the Jews. Let me break it down fo' you.

Muslims to Christians/Catholics:

We believe that Allah created all religions, and Christianity was one of them. The beleives our the same, we believe in Jesus, and we believe in God; but we do not beleive Jesus was the son of God. This part was explain by the passing down of the Bible, which some say was manipulated to have said that Jesus was the son of God. No difference really, just that one big one.

Muslims to Jews:

God, in our beleifs, also created this religion. Their religion is based on David, or as the Islamic would say, Dawood. He is one of the prophets of Allah. Allah turned on the Jewish people because they didnt obey his ruling, which was sent from Dawood.

Muslim to Buddhism/Conf'ism:

These religions were started by people who felt like it and have little or no social backing. We cant compare at all.
