I'm always hearing about how Atheists are banning x-mas trees, the pledge of alleigence, ETC. My question to you is, why do you care? Why do you care if someone wishes to whittle away their life following a god they believe exists? I'm a Satanist, so I worship myself as a god and all the other fun stuff, but honestly? Why do you care is a christian is a christian, and does christian things? And why is always christians you go after? Why dont you guys ever go on national tv and bitch about menorahs in public? Honestly, how does it effect you? It's not like you care about their well being right?

I just ended out a debate topic about separation of church and state, so I am well-qualified to tell you about it.
They don't object to the practice of religion; they object to it at a state level. And there's evidence to show that having religion and state intermingled leads to A) war, B) religious oppression, C) lack of church social assistance. That's why we want Separation, to prevent all those things. It's not about some personal vendetta against Christains.

Ok thats cool. Thanks
to add to what deptstoremook said, the reason it appears to be christians that are targeted is because this nation has been historically influenced by christian religion and ideals above all others, and continues to be.

am an Athiest and I dont go after christians. the only time I will "go after" one is if they are trying to convert people, and then usualy its only explaining how trying to convert people is wrong. but I think most people go after christians because the jewish faith you have to work to get into and everyone for who goes to temple pretty much beleives in it completly. while many Christians are hypocrites.

I'm a Christian, and I also think it's bullshit to try to convert people to a certain religion. I mean, just let them be. All that is is just a way for the Church to gain members and influence. I also think the scare tactics ("You're going to Hell if you don't convert") that religious officials use are bullshit. Again, that's just another way for the Church to gain members and influence.

Plus, having a christmas tree or something on state grounds shows a bias towards Christianity.
I'm no Christian by far, but I can't stand people like that. People who bitch and moan everytime they see a cross, or see the word "Christmas" on something. I use the term "X-mas" but only for abbreviation purposes. Christmas to me has lost almost all religous value anyway, regardless what you call it.
People like that are just people who like to bitch. Let everyone call it what they want. The word isn't hurting anyone. It isn't disturbing our youth or anything of the sort.
That's one action against Christianity that actually bothers me.
excuse me...but wtf do christmas trees have to do with Christianity? correct me if i'm wrong,..but christmas trees have only been associated with christmas for,what?..400 years?then from the mid-seventeenth century on the Christmas tree slowly grew in popularity and use. However, it was not until the beginning of the 19th century that the use of the Christmas tree grew into the general German custom that it is today. Also at this time it spread to the Slavic people of eastern Europe. The Christmas tree was probably first used in America about 1700 when the first wave of German immigration settled in western Pennsylvania. During the War of Independencealso, not all Christians approved of these trees, even in the beginning....just my two cents..thanx
