Not in a spiritual religious way mind you. You can't pray for a car and you will have a car. If you are sick and pray and truly beleive that prayer will heal you, than it does work. No, its not god answering your prayers, its your mind. Prayer can act as a placebo, a very strong placebo. If you dont know what a placebo is than I cant be bothered to explain what one is. Most smart people should know though. Think about it, this placebo effect explains why people miraculously heal themselves through prayers, this in turn triggers them to beleive more strongly in God.

Prayer doesn't work, psychology works.

So?

Yes, intent does effect reality.

Here's a link that some may find interesting, I suppose...

http://edgarcayce.org/ps2/powerofprayer.html

This is not placebo, as such a test could not be carried out to confirm this, as the state of praying cannot be fooled...If that makes the slightest bit of sense, then you're on the right track.

You use the word "God", which means different things to different people...

I'm sorry, but you are quite stupid. It is easy to claim something as bullshit or "placebo" or any other neat and tidy labels that have been fed to you by the structure of society, by the influenced 'mass consciousness'.

It takes a wise man to know that he knows little, and to follow his own path toward finding the truths for himself...

I am happy to debate this with you...Please provide input.

I'm sorry, but that doesn't make the slightest bit of sense. A test could not be carried out to confirm what? That this is not a placebo? How do you fool an abstract concept? I'm not trying to be condescending here, but you really do sound like a "cold reader" if you've ever heard of them. The article you posted is the same. There are vague assumptions, asserting that non-specific prayer is more effective. Of course it is, if you pray for something specific, it doesn't happen, you realise it's bullshit. If you pray for God to do what's best for you, anything that happens, you'll put down to God. This is a tactic shady mentalists with qusetionable beards have been using for centuries to feign mystical powers.

Again, you're not being very clear, do you agree with the 'mass consciousness' concept? You posted an article that supports it, but seem to disagree with the idea here. The whole concept seems like nonsense to me, what proof is there for any such idea? You criticised Spic Power for calling it bullshit, but you're not providing any convincing evidence. Being critical of someone for being affected by society is hypocritical, as everyone is affected by society in what they do and think.

Sorry. Wrong place, wrong time.

You're perfectly right on all accounts.
