I read today about the QuRan and how its written. When allah speaks, he is referred to in sentence structure in the third person plural (IE 'they'). Yet the QuRan states the allah is a single entity. Why is that?

I think when it states the word they, it is usually talking about the non-believers, if you are positive I am wrong, then please provide the whole statement.

in this verse in Arabic : "INA NAHNOU NAZALNA DIKRA WE INA LAHO LAHAFIDON"

"ان نحن نزلنا الذكر و انا له لحافظون"

the translation of NAHNOU means WE

God refers to himself with "We "as it is a form of glorification in arabic and other semite languages note that in hebrew "we" is pronounced "nakhnou" wich resembles the arabic "nahnou"

this form of glorification is used with Kings and emperors

it doesn't mean he is more than one it's just that god is the emperor of all creation adn universe and adressed himself with what he deserves

Thats unintuitive at the most. Is allah retarded or something? Why would he purposefully confuse his folowers? But you dont even believe yourself do you?

I want to point out that God of Christianity/Judaism refers to himself as a single person, yet also is only a part of a trio. Islam is basically a watered down version of Judaism (seriously, compare them) and are written in similar languages. Yet the dieties refer to themselves in different ways.

I am pretty sure We means Allah and the Angels, because in the Islamic religion it states that Allah wrote the Qu'ran, but an Angel brought it down to Muhammed.

This only serves the purpose of pointing out out, that you havent read anything about Islam, Because mainly what islam wants to say in concept is the same as Judaism and Christianity. In priniciple Muslims believe in Moses and Jesus as part of their Faith, while that doesnt apply in Christianity and Judaism.

One more note for you ArgonPlasma2000 , ever wondered why some bunch of guys blew up the Twin Towers, it was because someone somewhere says bad things about their Religion and their Prophet, if you respect someone else's beliefs, then he'll respect yours. and by the way im a Catholic.

Nearly.

It's pronounced "anachnu" with the "ch" as in "loch".

I believe this is an example of Allah using the "Pluralis Majestatis" or "royal we" when refering to Himself as a monarch.

Check out this wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_we) on the "royal we".

I have seen a similar thing in the Bible when God is called Elokim which is in fact plural (and is spelt wrong here for reasons which can be found at www.jewfaq.org). (http://www.jewfaq.org).)
