I'm just saying that I'm really happy that I have genitals and I'm not going to be ashamed of mine.

Can you find the passage where it says that? I think you're rightish. I think it does say something like that. But, I think the way it was put was the was saying how shamefull it was that they were naked, not their genitals in particular. But, I don't remember for certain.

Cheers,

God never said that genitals should be something we are ashamed of.

When we were created, we were made in His image. Our creation was "perfect", according to Him.

That includes our genitals.

What we should be ashamed of is what we do with our genitals, and what we think about as a result of having genitals, if it is outside of God's will.

It's just like being angry. We are created to experience the emotion of anger. It's not bad, in and of itself.

What we DO with it makes it either bad or good.

Then why once Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the forbiddin tree did they know the shame of being naked? And I am definetly not ashamed of what I do with my genitals. And nobody should be ashamed.

What I find really amusing is that a Cardinal has to squeeze the Pope's testicles after he's elected in order to make sure he's male.

Because then they had the knowledge of what they were not supposed to be thinking about and doing with their genitalia.

Also, embarassment and guilt immediately became a part of their hard-wiring at that point. They knew they had disobeyed God, so they hid.

If you have no conviction (which I don't believe), then you have not allowed yourself to.

You could say that is circular, except we ALL understand nothing without experiencing. (that includes reading about any given subject)

Sin is a beach.

ok mr smarty pants why would god not want them thinking things? huh? cause you have to keep the people ignorant in order to rule over them, thats why most conservatives are christian, they are ignorant.

look at history most of history is filled with liberal minded people, why? cause they have the answer, they seek the truth.

Hmm I thought God was made of pure energy? If that's so he/she wouldn't have genitals as energy is genderless.

Saying god is made of pure energy is a worthless argument, since you can't prove he exists. How do you say something is made of something when you don't even know it exists?

Ummm...no.

It's because man is born into sin, and will do what comes naturally to him, which is rebel against God.

It is harder to believe in God, and that is the way that it was designed.

So, go ahead and keep on the "easy" road.

I could do whatever my body wanted, just as easily as you could. But I don't, and that results in my being conservative. I believe that in order to control the flesh, one must die to it.

But I think that is a little to deep into Christianity, at this point in the conversation.

Suffice it to say that your intolerance is flattering.

You're a sweetie pie !

And for the record, the first part of your post wasn't even remotely related to what I said, so I am not going to reply to it.

(Oh, and I am Mrs. Smarty Pants. *smiles*)

It's odd... I haven't read the bible, but I do know the stories in it. Wasn't putting on clothes part of Adam + Eves sinfulness? If that's the case, then wouldn't clothes be sinful not a lack thereof?

Depdning on how well you know history, there may have been a female pope for a short time. (800s)

If this doesn't mean God has genitals, I can't say I follow. And why would the Bible refer to God as Him if he didn't have a penis?

If you can control sex and death,

you can control everything else.
