Religious Perspective gives a person meaning and purpose in life...

Agree/Disagree

i personally agree, look at all the people who live a morally "correct" life, so they can go to heaven. and then there are the bad sides such as suicide bombers who kill themselves for their beliefs, but thats still meaning and purpose isnt it?

This is a tough one but I am going to have to disagree. Since I have spent the last four years at college, I have met a lot of different people with a lot of different religious beliefs. I see the argument you are making but at the very same time I know many people that supposedly are religious, however, do many things that directly violate the very cores of the religion. Also, I know, on a limited basis, atheists that are very motivated in their lives and what they want to do with them. For many people, religion does give a purpose and reason to live their lives the way they do but there are tons of other things in this world that people use as their purpose and meaning in life (family, money, etc.).

It can, as anything can.

so really, religion gives us a purpose that is different from some others such as money. as its has core values such as love one another etc

Religion is just one of the endless possibilities that people can devote themselves to. Most choose it, since it provides a solid, unchanging answer once devotion is complete...others devote themselves to more material things, and even more rare, people devote themselves to strictly personal items...for myself, it's self-respect and honor. Sure, I stray every once and awhile, just as any religious follower will stray from their walk, but for the most part, people will succeed in their devotions.

I don't really understand what you are saying here. I feel that some people choose to worship money and not God. Some will make the argument that worshipping money is a religion but that is hard for me to embrace. I would be happy if you could expand on this a little bit. Listen to me, like a true english teacher. All i need now is a red pen and no sense of humor.
