you surely cannot say "god bless you"
God Bless You! Then we'd laugh and he'd smite me.

God wouldn't sneeze, since He doesn't have nasal passages.
Even if He did, I doubt there is dust in heaven.

Why couldn't you say "God bless you!"?
If God is infinite, can He not bless Himself?
God the Father and God the Holy Spirit are both spirits, so they do not have the physical capacity to sneeze, but Jesus Christ, God the Son in human flesh, could sneeze, and probably did on occasion.

tho only reason people say that is because sneezing was a symptome of the Plague. They thought anyone who sneezed was going to die soon, so they hoped to save their soul by invoking the Lord. You know, "just in case"...
I laugh when anyone says "bless you" when people sneeze.

well said, although this topic made me think of the enormous amount of spit and snot that would cover all of existence from one 'sneeze of god.' in that case i would say, "cover your fucking mouth!"

Sneezing is a symptom of being sick, or having stuff in you that you shouldn't. God is supposed to be perfect, so he'd never get any type of ailment or anything like that.

The full saying is "God bless you, may the Devil not take you". This originated from the superstitious belief that your soul could escape when you sneezed and the Devil could take it. That is also where coving your mouth and nose when you sneeze came from.

I also want to add that if God was actually capable of such a human bodily function, the impact on the universe would be of such great magnitude that we'd be anihilated instantly.
He says He is "everywhere", at all times.
Omnipresent, and seh.
Omniexplosive.
