1] I get along with my parents, not because its the 17th commandmnet, but because I know it benefits both parties.

2] I have certain views on drugs, but I certainly dont think the devil invented them.

3] I dont steal, not because god says so, but because I feel stealing puts me at a level as something less than what I am. In other words stealing is for [metaphoricaly] niggers.

4] I dont kill, not cuz moses says so, but because if we are really here by random chance or phenomena, than everybody deserves their chance, unless the person is gonna try to end it for others

5] I forgive and forget, not cuz jesus is doing it, but because I see no benefit in holding on to hate.

So basically Im a good person, I am not a burden on society, Im social, I talk to and like helping people, yet because I choose not to worship your GOD, a serial killer who asks for forgiveness has a better chance of making it into "heaven" than I do? Thats one of those things that bothers me. If you need an old book to be what I am than it just shows that you are weak and condemned to forever stress yourself out on wether you are conforming well enough to other's standards or not.

Almost everybody needs religion...you should have put it more clearly as 'I don't need theism.'

you seem to be a bit hung up on christianity. there are myriads of other religions out there, you need to recognize this.

Spic, anything can be a religion; mine centers around self-respect, respect, and honor...there is no god, no driving force or anything. I just worship those attributes, so to speak, and I strive to maintain them in myself. I'm sure there is something in this world that you revere above all else; your attempt to preserve/reach/adore/etc that idea or object would be your religous pursuit.

I agree w/ Spic Power. Religion is a worthless, manmade institution, run by fallible men who interject their own views into everything they do.

However, I do believe there IS a greater being who created the universe and everything in it(including us). Since we were created by Him(It, whatever), we owe it to him to live as He intended for us to, i.e. Dont kill, Dont steal, Dont hurt people, etc. All of us do these things anyway, contrary to the Creator's plan for us. Does that mean we are defective and dont really deserve to exist?

Organizations are so easily corrupted, the corruption at the top rots all the way down the system.

I believe in Jesus Christ and Buddha, but I do not believe in religion as it stands at this moment on our planet.

They spread teachings, but are interpreted to the ends of the leaders, and whoever else for un-Holy reasons.

Religion is faith-based. If you have a morality system then it needn't be faith-based necessarily and thus needn't necessarily be ar eligion. Get it right, guys. This isn't to anybody in particular.

Seems to me the ten commandments were logical rules.

If you want to learn it the hard way go ahead.....you will arrive at the rules of the TEN
