Short answer in most christian circles: Yes.

I should think that voluntarily putting yourself into a condition that would inhibit your absorbtion and understanding of the word of God would not be a good idea. But then again, on Purim we're commanded to drink and drink until we can't tell the difference between praised be Mordechai and cursed be Haman, so I guess it's all contextual. In celebration of God, you should eat drink and be merry, in studying his word, you should have a clear mind.

Yes. But, besides it's wrong to burn fucking peoples buildings down. I mean, if it was the White House or some corporate skycraper or something and you could do it without killing anyone I'd say go for it, but burning down a church that was built by the contributions from believers is wrong just in general. Fuck sin and fuck law, this is a question of humane morality.

Why would it be (providing you don't laugh your ass off at something you shouldn't)?

Jesus was anointed with 'special' oil. It was common, legal practice in his day. Don't you want to be like Jesus?

...I think that he was talking about going to church under the influence of drugs. That is unless your post was actually a joke.

Woops. My bad. I have to stop modding while drunk.

*takes a swig*

Anyways, no, I don't think it's wrong to go to church stoned. In fact, it's an ancient practice in many different religions to get stoned in church.

To second Lost (who never ceases to suprise me http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif)) It was an ancient practice to take drugs in churches. Particularly Mescaline. The Hopee indians still do today. The ancient belief was that there was a void between body and spirit, and that the physical mind needed to be silenced or subdued for the Spirit, Soul, and Sacred Sensorium to be 'worked with' or enlightened.

The Early-Christian belief was that this was no longer necessary because Christ reforged the void between Soul/Spirit and Body.

However, it's still practiced in circles around the world, and it aparently still works for some of them.

I like the way Seph explained it, and side with him, from a Christian point of view, that is, "In celebration of God, you should eat drink and be merry, in studying his word, you should have a clear mind."

Bravo Seph, my compliments,

-Uncle Rusty
