If anything, this will pull Catholics together. This was the only pope that a lot of people have ever known, so this will be new for them.

I really don't see catholicism "taking a hit".

What about the new pope? John Paul II was themost loved, there's a new one. I'm not sure if they have candidates for it, or if they are chosen before, but yeah, media.

I heard something about one of the candidates being black, which would be so badass.

That would definitely be interesting.
