In the church of Jehovahs witnesses there are laws and their are guidlines. For instance, your # 26 as an example. They take the view from the bible, which states : "Marry only in the lord." This is viewed as a guideline.

Alot of the views differ from each person. The basic morals are the most highly upheld in the Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses, such as fornication (sex before marriage, etc) is shunned and if these boundaries are breached you can be 'expelled' from the congregation.

Things such as "You cannot be a cheerleader" are just basic guidelines. Stupid guidelines, that they are, but if you take a look from a meek persons outlook you can easily see how things would progress from one thing to another. Or, so they say.

In the list, where things such as "men CANNOT wear beards" I believe to be a ton of rubbish. Jehovahs withnesses take the viewpoint that all men has been given free will by god, so yes, a man can do whatever he wants but those actions may be subject of punishment.

Things such as "you cannot practise martial arts" is beyond stupid. Has anyone read the bible? The human race under the direction of god has been one big violent orgy.

Just wanted to ad those things to help the sceptics, I myself have become fairly sceptical on certain issues that are raised here and have been raised elsewhere.

#26 and #87 are not actually contradictory. If you are married and convert to JWs, you wouldn't be allowed to divorce (am I right?) So as long as your spouse isn't a Jehova's Witness, you have to have loyalty to the elders over your spouse.

Some of the rules didn't seem that bad, and reminded me of Gnosticism. Then there were those others that reminded me more of Scientology. Except instead of lawyers they have elders.

A JW can only divorce if his/her spouse commits an act of fornication.

Number 8, is actually, religiously/historically true. The religion from which, Christianity is derived says that all ppl go to hell/gehenna/the grave before being deemed worthy of passing on/in to heaven.
