View Full Version : Was Jesus a bastard?

Just a pretty simple question here. Mary was the mother of Jesus, but when she gave birth to him she was a virgin. She was also the wife of Joseph. But wait a minute... how can she have been his wife if she was a virgin? The Christian Church does not recognise marriage until the husband and wife have sex, not having sex is one of the only grounds on which it will grant divorce (the term they use is ratum et non consummatum). Jesus then was born out of wedlock, and technically a bastard, no?

Technically I shouldn't have called it divorce, the church grants annullments, but the name isn't important. Anyway:
"the Vatican stresses that annullment always declares a total, absolute denial of a marriage having been entered into, e.g., through a lack of consent. Theologically, if a sacramental union once truly existed, it cannot simply disappear after several years of marriage, because matrimony is by its very nature exclusive and lifelong. An annullment thus requires that there have been something missing from the beginning.

Since when did the Christian church exist before Christs birth? And since when has the Cristian church said you had to fuck to be man and wife?

Wedlock is too arbitrary to be defined as such. And the legend of virgin birth is totally stupid. You know what you doing. I suppose that the Christian dudes will say that 'god' (yet another arbitrary being), caused the virgin birth. If you have ever seen a diagram of the female reproductive organs, you will see that it is physically impossible without divine intervention. And since it seems that gods are figments of imagination (Hinduism supposedly has many thousands), we can rule out that too.
What I think happened is that Mary fucked, and got preggers. Then she blamed it on god. And since this child was born into believing he was god-made, he became the Jesus we know of.

simple answer yes, because mary and god were not married, jesus, their son, was born out of wedlock and thus, is an illegimate child.

None of us are bastards.
We are all children of God.

To the first poster who asked where the church says you have to fuck to be man and wife... it's part of my post (second message).
And obviously they weren't married by the Christian church, I'm wondering now what church they would have been married by. Hmm, it would be odd if they had been part of some other religion.
Either way, according to the standards of the Christian church, Jesus *was* born out of wedlock.
Random info though, a friend of mine knew a girl in the town where she was born who got pregnant despite being a virgin at the time. She was fooling around with her boyfriend, jerked him off and he came on her pussy. Must have had some fucking good swimmers in his nuts, no kidding. I don't know if she fingered herself while he came on her pussy or not, I guess that's not the kind of thing she would have gone into great detail about.

Well you really cant say that hinduism and christianity are both true at the same time. So you cant say that "there is no evidence of hindu gods therefore the christian god does not exist either". Plus the Bible credits the event through divine intervention, so no need to speculate.
But Jesus being the bastard son of God makes me wonder. Never thought of it that way though.

geekykiddo: The many thousands of gods in the Hindu faith are recognised by Hindus as being different manifestations of the one single god (who is understood in a much more philosophical sense than the gods of monotheistic religions like Christianity).
He was born out of a forbidden relationship. I am not sure exactly what kind. Either they weren't married at the time of conception or Mary commited adultery and sinned.
