The human body has five known sensory inputs; scent, sight, taste, sound, and touch. We already know that our senses are limited, that things exist beyond these five senses...we cannot smell everything, see everything, taste everything, hear everything, or feel everything. Our bodies do not possess the sensitivity or lack there of to experience the low or high end of any of the senses we know. How can we trust our view of reality with such limited perception of it? Some will say technology; but technology is only capable of translating that out of our sensory range into something we can sense. My goal is currently to expand the range of my senses...I've already found some success with a few of my senses. I've even been lucky enough on a couple occasions to feel "god".
Through intense meditation I've been able to feel almost everything around me for about a 30 foot distance; the senses are able to take much more than usual...I could feel the oven's heat from my room, hear the cats walking around the house, I was even able to hear my brother's heart beat pick up from his room while he was watching porn...
It's an amazing feeling, but all things I knew existed and could explain as just heightened senses.
But I felt something in 2 separate sessions of meditation that was completely different...I felt a link between everything going on around me and myself...this link led to a quick sinking feeling, then a sudden rush of senses; it felt like I was feeling every last thing in the universe at once; I felt as though I was immersed in it all, and I found something in this state that seemed to call to me: It was all in perfect balance. All of my senses were working in unison, feeling the same overall level of input. This is where I found god.
Since those two experiences I have been trying to find methods of better connecting with this. I've been using combinations of drugs and meditation since; I've come close to feeling god again, but not quite. I am going to make another attempt after work today.
