I have heard a number of what I know to be Christians say they are "God fearing men." I'm somewhat of a Christian and I do not fear God, what is there to fear about if you know you will be saved? Why would a Christian say they fear God? Are Christian supposed to fear god? I don't understand this, someone explain to me. Im bored...

God has more of a reason to fear us. We should start The Cult of the Man Fearing God. Basically, we just nuke his creation cause we

a) can.

b) are completely badass.

Other men inspire fear into us as an insentive to aim for God.

IE: If we don't aim for god we go to hell.

The thing is, there aint any other direction to go in, so there's nothing to fear anyways.

It's kinda like being on a raft going down a river. You might be rushing down the rapids or gently flowing down a calm stream. Whether you believe in the sea or not you're eventually gonna get there. Even the God haters who swim in the wrong direction will get tired eventually.

Then there are those who swim to the bank and stand there with god mocking the dumbasses who don't know what to do...

i think it means, they love jesus because he is all-loving but at the same time, they believe he can strike them down any time he wishes. so it's like they better stay in line, or else.

I've always wondered that...

Wrong kind of "fear".

The fear that is referred to in the Bible isn't "piss your pants" fear.

It is a wholesome, unadulterated respect and humility before God.

If you have a Strong's Concordance, you can look up the word "fear", and see the different contexts in Hebrew.

I am not scared of God...I fear His might and power, His glory and perfection.
