Can you sin? Since if your not christian then you don't subscribe to their rules for life, so are you really sinning if you sin when your not catholic?

By their standards, yeah, by our standards, no.

Whoa whoa whoa...

First, you said "Christian", and then said "Catholic". Which is it ?

Being Catholic does not make you a Christian. Being a Christian makes you a Christian.

All people sin...even the saved ones.

isn't christian a blanket term for all those who belive in jesus?

Sin by human standards? It depends on who you ask. By THEIR definition, yes you have. But since their is no direct effect of sinning, it really does not matter to people that don't believe in it. To a Christian, it does have an effect in this life - psychological guilt.

Sin my God's standards? Well, this is absolute. No matter what religion you are, theist, atheist, or agnostic - you've sinned in God's eyes - if it is true. And even if it is true, the parameters pertaining to what constitutes a sin is something we can only speculate.

ouch..more and bloodier wars have been fought on that point than any other.

according to the bible (but not most 'christians' however) a christian is simply someone who recognises JC as the 'christ' =the messiah.

Technically, it's people who've accepted Jesus into their hearts and recieved the Holy Spirit.

It doesnt matter even if you ARE christian and sin because you can just ask for forgiveness when you're done.

Depends on your religion. Every one's going to hell according to everyone, except for buddhists, because they believe all forms or life c an reach nirvana.

That's all kind of irrelevant. unchewed_meats response pretty much sumed it up.

Now I'm going to close this thread, because it's furthermore irrelevant, and I can.

Cheers,
