I have heard this term many times and am confused. I know people that claim to be "annointed" but what does that mean?

They proclaim to be able to prophesy the future and such. Is there a ritual that makes you one such as these?

It means to be in communion/fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

"Filled" with the Holy Spirit is a non-fancy way of saying "annointed".

It is also a Catholic rite where the priest blesses someone using oils, it is probably suposed to do that other thing. It is part of the last rites and the only time I have seen those given I was kinda too distracted to care much about what the priest was doing.

It means to annoit with holy oil. Jesus did this to people and it was done to him by the apostles. They did it for many reasons like blessing, healing purposes and such. The oil was mainly olive oil with a heavy concentration of THC from dissolving cannabis flowers into it. It was so strong that it would readily absorb into your skin making you higher than you could ever be by smoking the flowers. Jesus and his apostles walked around literally bathed in this oil. It probably is the real answer to how those miracles were performed. I hope to whip up my own batch one day. It works quite well used topically for everything from herpes to arthritis.
