View Full Version : A finite expression of infinite consciousness

In the beggining there was the big bang, and then a bunch of burning gasseous planets etc. etc. then stuff calmed down and we have our primordial soup. Single celled organisms formed etc. etc. etc. all the way until animals formed. Okay somewhere along the lines one of these prehistoric creatures had to reach self-consciousness, in otherwords at one point or another something had to start thinking.
Consciousness was formed at that very moment.
The universe got so complex that when intelligent beings formed, consciousness formed and with that there was existence. When we are born, consciousness is formed, it is pulled out from every fiber of the universe, because the consciousness of the universe is infinite. Our consciousness is a finite expression of the conscioussness of the entire universe. It was always there it just wasn't active, when we are born and reach consciousness this is when we are 'activated' we are consciouss and our consciousness is our soul and very existence.
So what happens when we die? Our conscioussness or soul is released from its earthly bonds and is no longer controlled by the rules of the physical world. We are now free, we are now everywhere and nowhere, in anytime.
But we're consciouss, and thats the purpose of life. Life creates intelligent minds, intelligent minds create consciousness and consciousness is our very existence. We always were, we always existed in the universe, but never conscious.
It goes perfectly well along with science and makes sense. Point holes in my theory.
BTW this isn't just my theory, I've heard other people talk about it.

Interesting theory. What is this theory called? I'd like to research it.

Buddhists have called it Dharma for quite some time.

You do not seem to understand the big bang theory. It's not like a bomb, there was nothing there before, or at least you are not able to conclude that there was anything there as the theory does not go back to before the bang itself, it only predicts from the exact moment after the "bang". You were also going along with fairly scientific jabber until you got to the end and simply concluded so since the universe (which has no consciousness of its own) is infinite then we all have souls that are released from our bodies when we die. Your argument is very poor.
EDIT: "Consciousness is the purpose of life."...so when you die (no longer have life) you lose this consciousness. That fits better by your argument.

The big bang theory is that two stars exploded; not nothing. You can't get something from nothing. 0x1=0 (gasp!) 0x2=0 !!!!! Notice pattern?

is says what consciousness is though? can you say that an ant has no consciousness yet we do? do dolphins have consciousness? what about cats? what exactly do you define as consciousness because there are a lot of animals out there that display similar behaviour to us, they eat for pleasure, dolphins fuck for pleasure, they care about their young, etc so where exactly do you draw the line of "these animals aren't conscious and these animals are"?
Black holes consume matter, in other places like the nebula of orion, stars are born. Everything is composed of energy, we humans tend to think inside the parameters of matter without going beyond and realising all matter is composed of energy.
Science has collided an atom and an anti-atom, the result, pure energy, thus re-creating the supposed conditions before the big bang when all was energy. The big bang simply converted some of that energy to matter.
Think dimensionally, energy is one dimension and matter another, but are they different dimensions? Matter is composed of energy, so it is apparent that what exists is energy in a constant state of change.
First law of thermo-dynamics -- energy is never lost or created, it simply changes form. That is: us, everything, is composed of energy. We seem to be solid matter, sometimes called samsara, it's an illusion. Smoke and mirrors, all is energy, matter is a temporary expression of energy.
