I welcome all comments and opinions, its mainly the only reason im posting this --
What i want to know is whether or not you guys think that those who practice medicine are in some way damned by God.
Here's my reasoning. It is written in the bible that when God wants you to go, he wants you to go. So, if you are near death and a doctor saves your life, did the doctor not prevent God from taking your soul up to join him in heaven (or throw it down in the mud)
Just wondering, please reply

One of the most ignorant things I've ever read, but I guess I shouldn't expect much from a nazi.

It sounds reasonable to be. If abortion is "playing God", how is medicine not?

For example, a man heard that his neighborhood was flooding due to a heavy rain storm. He got down on his knees and prayed to God: “Dear God, save me from the coming flood!” The waters began to rise and a truck came by and the driver said, “Get in and I’ll drive you to higher ground.” The man said no, God would save him. The waters continued to rise.
A woman in a boat rowed by. She called, “Jump into the boat and I will row you to safety.” The man said no, God would save him.
The floodwaters continued to rise. The man was perched on the roof of his house. A helicopter flew by and let down a rope for the man to grab onto. “I will fly you to safety,” yelled the pilot. “No.” the man said, “I am waiting for God to save me.” The man drowned.
He got to the heaven hopping mad. “What are you doing here?” God asked. The man said, “God! I am mad at you! I asked you to save me from the flood and you did not!” God smiled and said, “I sent you a truck, a boat and helicopter? How much more saving did you need?”
And thanks to these good people I did not have to type it out. http://www.christchurchsummit.org/Sermons-2003/031109-TrustingToListen.html
That is what I think of when people say medicine goes against God's will and want to test themselves and see if they have they have the same level of faith as Jesus or one of his apostles.
Edit: made it a bit more readable.

It is a good point for this "medicine" topic.
I've heard that one before, posed somewhat differently. However, when i heard it, it was framed in such a way that the message was in response to non-believers feeling that God didnt give them any proof or anyone to tell them of God..
example: non-believer makes fun of the "stupid Christian" that is always trying to witness to him; and mad/annoyed because everytime he turns around, some Christian is trying to "push" his belief on people.
In fact, i have seen an exact example of this example... an old girlfriend of mine was pissed that i was always **"pushing" my belief on her, then at work her (Christian) supervisor/friend would try to help her with some problems in her life..using Christian teachings as suggestions.
**"pushing" : i say pushing, but in general(in life outside of TOTSE), I tend to just let the conversation go where it needs to go. I am not embarassed about my faith, but i know that if everyother word out of my mouth is 'the Bible' or 'Jesus' etc, people will feel like i am preaching and many will ignore what has been said.
In real life, i "function" more as a "sower" and a "serf" than i do on TOTSE. In this forum, i can be more "pushy", since--well, that is the basis of this forum.
I do look for opportunities to 'serf' or 'sow' in reallife, but i try to let the person control the depth and length of the discussion... what were we talking about again? LOL sorry for going off on a tangent. It kinda wrote itself. LOL

Yeah. I've thought about this before. I don't believe in God though, so I don't think about that too much.

so if you cant get a hold of a doctor it means god wants you to die??? aint that a bit far fetched?
If God didn't want us to discover and use medicine, then He wouldn'r have given us the brains to do so. Yet again, I think that a Pandora's Box had been opened with medicine, considering the human population is growing while largely unchecked.

Agreed. Religion shouldn't be in anything other than religion, IMO anyway.
God made science, therefore God made medicine.
Science and God go hand in hand, really....

If God wants you to go, your going medicine or not.
There is no need to slice your hand open and not seek medical attention. Thats plain idiocy.

A highly entertaining story. I even laughed aloud, which I rarely do while surfing the Internet. Your story doesn't acount for many things, however. God gave us the ability to abortion children. Is that morally okay, according to God? He gave us medicine. He also gave us weapons, drugs and pornography. Speaking on behalf of theists, we cannot deem something morally acceptable (in God's name) simply because God gave us the means to act in a certain way.
Having had said that, we cannot rely on God for much of anything. Especially since it doesn't exist.

Yes, it's very far fetched. Christianity itself is far fetched.

Using that logic, God wants us to annihilate each other, because he gave us the ability to create weapons. That doesn't cut it.
I think it's time for you all to acknowledge the complete bullshit that makes up religion.
