i'm just curious to find the ratio of believers to none believers in this forum. it seems that in most of the threads a large portion of people take the more athiestic approach towards things and very few seem to be actually religious towards a belief in god. many will say what the reason is supposed to be behind a religious fact but aren't actually religious themselves.

so anyway i'm atheist

Says its a religion with many god

Monotheism

Says its a religion with one god.

I dont like the term Atheism becuase that makes it sound like a religion. By the way, Im 75%atheist 25% agnostic. Im not against any religion like most self-absorbed atheists are though, it annoys.

You know, the ones that bash at religios people every chance they get. The ones that hate preachers yet go around trying to "convert" people to atheism. A lot of atheists are idiots with no higher an IQ than idiotic bible-followers. If youre going to be an atheist please be smart about it, a lot of the reason the bible-thumpers can be persistent is because they think a godless society wouldnt work, but you CAN be atheist and have morals. On the other hand, some bible beleivers are tolerant, and they dont mind you, they will leave you alone, "everyone can get to heaven their own way."Those are cool because I can have fun with them, and at the end of the day we wont be trying to tell each other what to think.

So basically Im against idiots, not any religion or lack-thereof.

We've become so accustomed to not trying to step on people's toes that we forget that Totse is the place where we should jsut be ourselves. We watch our backs for daggers too often, while people like Snoopy snap the dagger forward and shove it away when it approaches. I commend him and only can hope that i will be that way. I'm atheist by the way, and I agree with the spic on one point. I hate the people that take pride in being an atheist. If you are it is not different then any religion, it is simply the lack of religion. There is no need to go and shove your beliefs in everyone's face, if they ask then tell. If they start to argue then you can argue back, but don't try to "convert" everyone you talk too...

This is almost exactly what I think. But I consider myself more agnostic, and if anyone asked I'd tell them I was agnostic (I wouldn't give off percentages, that'd be wierd.) It's also really obnoxious when athiest think of themselves as "enlightened" beyond people who do believe in any religion. I accept that people believe in what they do, and there MUST be a good logical reason behind it so I leave it alone. I've also heard many a time of people who were athiest/agnostic and converted to Christianity or something, so there could be a "logical" reason behind it (I use logical loosely because even though most ath/agn think rational logic is what drives thier religion, other people might not. I don't want to say people who are religious don't have any sense of logic.)

where was there anything in what i said to assume that i was against others having a religious view? all i said was that i was atheist, i couldn't give a fuck if someone else isn't thats their choice. if someone poses a question pertaining to a question of faith yeah i'll sometimes put my 2 cents in but other than that i've never tried to ram athiesim down anyones throat unless they come at me with god first.

I was an atheist for some time...right now, I'd consider myself unidentified...I don't know what I believe anymore. Most of my experiences that tore me away from atheism occured while intoxicated, though some while sober. Essentially, I'm confused as hell, and it feels so much better than being certain. Right now, I'm just playing around with all sorts of ideas and exploring a section of myself that was previously hidden deep within. Such a measure of introspection often leads to suicide and insanity, but I hope I have the endurance of mind to handle this and become a stronger and more adaptable man for it.

Also, Snoopy can speak only so long as he keeps wrecking people's shit in here (mine included).

For the athiests out there, why are you in a religious forum?
