Being that humans have a level of conciousness that cannot be matched we slowly developed the ability to think and not just react from instincts like most mammals. The bible seems to be a very appropriate article when talking about any major religion in the United States but I did not know until recently that a good portion of the bible was not written until decades after Jesus' death. I'm wondering if we made a book in current time about the life of a "prophet" and passed it down through generations and word of mouth would it be a major religion in 2000 years if the human race is still alive? Furthermore, with the mental development of thinking we developed our own conciousness and with this created religion to continue our conciousness. My question is if you believed in something so great such as a religion could it be possible that your conciousness is strong enough to survive after you own bodily death and this, in turn, is in fact exactly what life after death is?

Maybe I'm just rambling but I was pretty drunk last night when I thought that up.

That last bit was absolutely just rambling. Actually the whole bible wasn't written until nearly a century after Jesus' death, but if you have faith supposedly the writers were given god's will to write down the exact right thing or something. Sounds like crap to me, that's why I'm Jewish/agnostic.

No I don't think that would be possible. Merely believing in something does not cause it to become true. What do you mean by believing in something so "great"? Do you mean believing in something so firmly, so good, or so significant? What is it about religion that makes it "great" in the sense that you mean it? What you are proposing is rather incoherent.
