Well if god didn't create the universe, then who did, or what. Why. Did anyone create it at all? What the hell are we spose to be doing here anyway?

Perhaps God and religon is just a good band-aid quick fix that was created so we can stick it over these questions so we stop asking and somehow feel that we have a purpose. Anyone else care to add?

No thing or being did. It's always been and always will. Infinity has always been hard to grasp from a psyche where an end of existance is inevitable.

Yup.

The good ol', "Something from nothing." argument.

There is no proof that the universe has existed without beginning or end (infinitely).

As a matter of fact, Einstein postulated that there WAS in fact a beginning to our universe, which is the reason why he begrudgingly became a theistic evolutionist.

Assertions are cool, though.

i will prove that something came from nothing...

something

see??? there was nothing... then there was something.

now i will prove that the universe is infinite, but instead of words, i will use the lack of words to represent my argument:

LOL how do we know that you have lack of words when not on TOTSE?

Just teasing, i'd hate to break your proof http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif)

What makes you think that cause and effect is the ultimate law of the universe anyways? Maybe we just choose to view things that way, and cannot comprehend the alternatives. Things are, right now- who's to say that those things contained within our memories are sequentially behind and related to them? How can anyone do anything but assume?

I've been waiting for Digital to respond...

What you did was give a very good "smartass" arguement (dont take that the wrong way, it was not meant as a insult or an attaboy).

I've said it before, "God existing for eternity vs. matter/energy for eternity" is the same arguement from the opposite perspectives.

I think Digital kinda trapped herself with her wording... which is why i called your statement "smartass".
