Do you think religion would still exist as it does if there was a proof one way or the other? A good deal of science is evidence against god in all modern religions, and people's faith is their evidence for it, along with further excuses they can make to still validate their faith against the scientific evidence fighting against it. This is common knowledge, if you really care a shit for knowing in more detail you could actually read every other thread on this forum because that's what this forum is about.

I do know some crap about religion and scientific evidence against it.I was just wondering if anyone could put up a good argument to whether or not God exists.

You fucking jackass.

This gay ass topic is recreated every two days on this forum.

This is exactly why I created that thread about intellectual laziness of many if not most athiests out there.

It's not our duty to give you reasons why god may or may not exist. Figuring that shit out is your own responsibility and should be one of those things that goes hand and hand with maturing and growing up.

And yet these people that post this shit think they have some point.

The theist carries the burden of proof. If you cannot know conclusively one way or another on a certain issue you should always choose the simpler explanation. Say that someone claims that there are invisible and intangible fairies down the street. You can't prove it, but you also can't disprove it. So is belief in these fairies rational? No. One should assume that God does not exist until it has been demonstrated otherwise.

This is not to say that there are not many good arguments that show the existence of a God to be very unlikely or even impossible (impossible arguments usually involve the definition of God and how it creates a contradiction with what is seen in reality/ similar to saying that it is impossible for a squarecircle to exist).

Actually whether you believe or not in the invisible fairies makes no difference. Neither believeing or disbelieving is any easier. Its the toss of a coin until you can determine by scientific proof.

ON TOPIC: You cannot prove the existence of God. It is not possible. Science has not progressed far enough, and i dont look for it to, to ever find God.

We cant "prove" one way or another because we cant "prove" anything at all.

You can't tell someone not to "post a gay ass comment" when you yourself just posted a "gay ass" question. You can't prove it either way, you can make a general assumption based off of the evidence ( of lack thereof ) but please refrain from being a complete dumbass in this forum.
