But since I was AWOL before I had a chance to respond to osmandius' reply, and my annoying thread was closed; I'd like to take the time to respond to them now. LostCause, you may close this if you wish, but I'm still going to express my opinion now matter what.

I never knew a guy who shaved his pubes could be this intelligent. Good argument, but (and heres the flaw) the majority of christians don't worship the bible, my own bible is absolutely filthy, covered in highlighter and represents a tv times more than it does a holy book - that isn't how you would treat a god/false idol.
And here is the next flaw, yes there is another - ive been going to church for fourteen years, and not once have i ever heard, seen or indeed smelt the bible being worshipped, true it is written by man and as you said yourself under the influence of the holy spirit so that is why the majority of christians read the bible under the influence of the holy spirit makes sense in a round about way eh?
True that it isn't directly placed on a pedastool to spite God himself, yet I still belief it is being indirectly taken before the Lord as blaspheme.
The reason for my saying this is documents found in the Nag Hammadi Library in 1945 in upper Egypt, specifically The Gospel of Thomas. (http://gnosis.org/naghamm/gthlamb.html)
My favorite passage, and the one that provides the most support for my argument is this:
(3) Jesus said, "If those who lead you say to you, 'See, the kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you. When you come to know yourselves, then you will become known, and you will realize that it is you who are the sons of the living father. But if you will not know yourselves, you dwell in poverty and it is you who are that poverty."
The kingdom of God is inside of you, and all around you. You do not need a book, or a church or a priest to know God, all you need is the will to accept him into your heart.
This is why I think organized religion has poisoned the true meaning of Christianity and that the Bible is blasphemous in nature.
