I was eating my Ben and Jerry's Half Baked ice cream on my couch, and I got a knock on my door. It was two guys, an old one and a young one, when I opened the door, the young one stepped forward and started speaking(alternatively, if an older person would have answered, I think the older man would have spoken)

He told me that he was all about spreading the word of the Bible, and the word of God, and peace. He asked if I thought peace is possible. I said "No, world peace is impossible, because there will always be some form of discrimination, whether it be over religion race, or economic background."

He looked stunned that I actually said no, and gave a good reason. He then said "You're absolutely right, but, do you think that our 'divine creator' could bring about world peace?" I said no, and slammed the door on him.

I called my friend Juan that lives a block away from me and told him to look out for Jehovah's Witnesses. I told him that when they go to his house, say that you believe that there can be world peace.

He called me back after the Witness spoke to him. He said that the Witness kissed his ass too, and said "Yes, you're correct,actually I'll quote [Jeremiah], a prophet, who said that peace is possible" and kept kissing his ass too.

Why do these people try to "save" the world? Why can't they just leave us alone, and why do they kiss your ass so much? To get you to join them? But what if I join? What's the major purpose?

I only remember one instance when they came to my house and they left when I said my parents were not home (I was quite young then so they didn't try talking to me). I heard about one case in which the witnesses came to this woman's house once a week for 4 years strait trying to convert her until she got so mad that on the following Sunday she knocked on there church and offered material for an hour. She left when asked by the police.

I actually won't mind if they came to my house once now because is would be a novelty to argue with them(as an atheist); though it is futile.

Why are these people trying to save the world?

Why are you being such an asshole to people with good intentions. You may not agree with them, they may not be spot on, they may be completely wrong but they're only trying to be good. I mean, you have a peep hole on your door, you could've looked through the peep hole and seen it was Jehovah Witnesses and thought

"Nah. I don't feel like dealing with them today." and saved them and yourself the grief of your rudeness. Like you take pride in slamming the door in someones face who came there to be nice to you.

You're an ass.
