1.Why was little or no faith needed to believe in god during Old Testament times (god appeared to humans regularly) yet today christians have to rely on 100% faith for their belief?
2.Can you prove that your god exists without the Bible?
3.Why is your god the only valid god?
4.By what method do you determine the difference between the voice of God, and the voice of the Devil pretending to be God?
5.If Christ did come back to earth, what would be your minimum requirement for proof of his authenticity?
6.What is the point of prayer? Surely your god knows what you are going to pray for beforehand - and has already decided on his course of action. Is it not absurd to think that you can persuade god to change his mind?
7.In the beginning God created the heaven and earth" ... what was god doing before "the beginning", and where did he reside?
8.Explain why "god made the stars" - countless billions of them - at the end of the forth day, when it had taken him all of the previous time to work on just one small planet.
9.Jesus apparently died for us, facing god's wrath in our place. Why did he have to do this? Why couldn't god forgive us anyway? Why does god - a perfect being - have negative, human-based emotions like anger and wrath? Is not the whole concept absurd?
10.What would you do if you found out your religion was wrong?

Actually, we have a religion forum, which is where this is going.

it has been a proven fact for a while that the verse describing jesus walking on water actually means he is walking on the beach. and if you believe in miracles i would have to call you ignorant because a miracle would interfere with your freewill to believe what you want he would be contradicing his own values if he were to give you a sign.

Because the Old Testament and New Testament salvation mechanisms are totally different. Pick up a Bible and compare the two.
2.Can you prove that your god exists without the Bible?
Well one can speculate that it is impossible for the world to exist as it does without him. I think for the most part evolution does itself disfavor because statistically it is unlikely to occur. So in my opinion evolution is impossible and there is only divine creation otherwise.
3.Why is your god the only valid god?
Thats a great question. But i cannot say for sure one way or the other with any degree of certainty. Its faith dont you know http://www.totse.com/bbs/wink.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/wink.gif)
But comparing Christianity to other religions its painfully obvious that since the Bible doesnt contradict itself that either God himself orchestrated the entire thing or it is the greatest lie ever told, and as such we couldnt even begin to disassemble it because we have no account of the authors.
4.By what method do you determine the difference between the voice of God, and the voice of the Devil pretending to be God?
There is a verse that says to "try the spirits". God would never tell you to do something that is contrary to His word. Satan will attempt to deceive you and make it sound like you would not be breaking Gods law, but you must always test them.
5.If Christ did come back to earth, what would be your minimum requirement for proof of his authenticity?
Well it wouldnt matter. We would know him if he came back. It teeters somewhat on the psychic level if you catch my drift. Besides, the next time He comes back will be for the rapture and the time after that is to set up the Millenial Kingdom. But what the heck?
Im not sure as to what i could ask Him to do to prove himself. But as a Christian, I do not operate on sight. If i did, id probably be a better Satanist. I have to live by faith, and that would be what i had to use to determine if it was the real deal.
6.What is the point of prayer? Surely your god knows what you are going to pray for beforehand - and has already decided on his course of action. Is it not absurd to think that you can persuade god to change his mind?
But He also says to ask and it shall be given unto you. Your parents know you are hungry, but until you ask whats for supper they wont make you anything? It works like that. If you dont ask for blessings, the Lord surely wont give you many.
As for changing Gods mind, you can theoretically change his mind. Look up the story of Baalim (sp?). He prayed many times to go with the enemy even though God TOLD him to stay put.
7.In the beginning God created the heaven and earth" ... what was god doing before "the beginning", and where did he reside?
One cannot answer that question without first knowing where to look for God and not being bound by time and space.
8.Explain why "god made the stars" - countless billions of them - at the end of the forth day, when it had taken him all of the previous time to work on just one small planet.
Im not sure as to why that is. But you dont know that he didnt just spend a second making Earth and then call it a day, no?
God would be the person to ask, not me http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/smile.gif)
9.Jesus apparently died for us, facing god's wrath in our place. Why did he have to do this? Why couldn't god forgive us anyway? Why does god - a perfect being - have negative, human-based emotions like anger and wrath? Is not the whole concept absurd?
We have sin on us. God cannot allow sin into heaven without payment. Old Testament offerings were only to keep you in Gods favor and to cover your sin until Jesus' death.
Sin needs to be payed for and we have nothing to repay with. Someone else had to take the burden. Someone who was not guilty of sin.
God could not forgive us without first repaying our debt of sin. If we call our sins payed for by Jesus (aka, getting saved) your sin is forgiven because you acknowledge your sin is payed for.
Now as for Gods emotions, who are you to say anger and jealousy are not divine emotions and that we are the ones who act as God acts? After all we are made in His likeness.
10.What would you do if you found out your religion was wrong?
Since we take God as true by faith, and if our faith did not waffle, we have no reason whatsoever to ever doubt our religion. Our religion taken at face value cannot be wrong, it is only the person who understands it as wrong.
But for argmunets sake i suppose id be forced to find some other meaning to life than Christianity, the obvious choice.
Great questions btw.

I doubt seriously you have any proof as to Jesus not literally walking on water. After all, i also doubt the disciples were worried about a storm when thier ship was docked.
And you still have free will to believe or disbelieve any miracle you experience.
Totally. Uninformed. Poster.
