Rapture ;1.extream happiness or delight;joyous ecstasy. 2.an expression of ecstatic joy.

Seeing as though tis topic is religious in nature it would best fit in a religious forum. Also, since only God the father knows when the rapture will take place, the answer in a resounding no

The funny thing is that the word rapture isn't anywhere to be found in the bible. I'll post more on this topic later.

It fits here too IMO. Not everyone who believes in a one God or in the teachings of the bible fallow a religion and you can't exactly say that the bible pertains to one religion and anybody who believes in it as truth would believe that it has nothing to do with religion. I believe in God and I have good reasons to but I certainly don't believe in this thing called religion. And besides the bible makes for good conversation on dozens of topics that have nothing to do with religion (divination, possesion, miracalous events, afterlife, ect).

Not unless you are talking about Nostradamus and his version of the End of the World.

It's "supposed" to happen. Not "a post".

Anyway, in all likelihood it's a scheme invented by the Churches based on a particular biblical interpretation.

What the hell are you talking about? Shut up with your "not everyone, you can't exactly say, and besides"

historically, "divination, possesion, miracalous events, afterlife, etc." have had everything to do with religion.

this post does belong here. Quit trying to sounds smart by picking up on the little generalities people make for satisfactory reasons.

To the original poster:

"For ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh" (Mat 25:13)

"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come" (Mat 24:42)

Fine, whatever.

I wouldn't post a topic about God or scriptures in the Science of the Damned forum myself anyway I just feel as if the original poster wasn't that far out in left field in posting that topic in there.

Heres some quotes from a pastor you might be familiar with. Theres a lot of other things to be said on this topic that he missed and I was going to explain all of this without quoting anybody but I really don't feel like looking for all of the relavant scriptures and typing out a huge report on it so if you need me clarify on any of these things just ask.

"I know it offends some people but the 'Rapture Doctrine' did not exist until the year 1830. And it's deception! If anything will lead you into Satan's camp that will do it! Because that is Satan's message!"

(Arnold Murray, The Shepherd's Chapel "Satan's Bargains," February 11, 2005, Direct T.V.)

"There's no great mystery there. Satan is coming disguised and is it any wonder that preachers that would cover the real truth of salvation and lead people into his (Satan) camp as Ezekiel 13 declares with the 'Fly Away Doctrine.'"

(Arnold Murray, The Shepherd's Chapel, "Rapture Theory" Tape from his ministry)

"...If you study the Bible there's many times where He hates certain things and people that do certain things. Even the people that teach the Rapture Doctrine. In Ezekiel chapter 13, God says, 'I am against those that teach my people to fly to save their souls, because they sow sheets and pillows over my outreached and saving arms whereby they can't see the real truth of salvation. And they teach them this fly away junk! That's biblical and yet people will listen to it by the droves! And they're ignorant and it's sad. It really is! I do not get any pleasure in seeing people deceived."

(Arnold Murray, Question & Answer period, July 19, 2004, Direct T.V)

There is a trend at the present moment to believe that the rapture is happening soon a "prepare yourself" kind of attitude. But like I said on another page (I dont know which one) btu it is pure arrogance to believe that your generation has messed things up to have this so called God come down and start taking up the good people and all that.

To the fuckin thread starter:no one fuckin knows when it's going to happen and you need to be more specific about what the rapture is.Also if people knew when the rapture was don't you think that everyone that belives in the bible would repent so that they could get to heaven.God would'nt want that as we could sin all our lives and when the rapture came we would all repent so we could all be saved. Thus the whole purpose of mankind would be lost.

Unless you do some interpreting of the bible, the end times were supposed to happen within the life time of the people being preached too (in other words 1900+ years ago).

The rapture itself is not biblical but is based on interpreting a couple passages.

Plenty of people make lots of money on it. From the Left behind books, to predictions such as "88 Reasons Why the Rapture Will Happen in 1988" a book that sold millions of copies. TBN (cable station) even held around the clock vigils and prepared a message for those who might have been left behind. Didn't happen. The book was revised each year for some time.

Or to put it simply, it's a scam to get God fearing people to fork over their money to con artists all in the name of religion.
