DMT, a powerfull hallucinogenic chemical that is produced in plants and in the pinieal gland of the human brain. This chemical is secreted by the gland during stressfull situatations(ex.Near death experience)and can cause a quite powerfull mind trip(Life flashes before eyes,encounters with intelligent nonhuman presences: angels, aliens, spirits)

My theory on the afterlife is that when a person dies, his/her pinieal gland secrets this chemical causing a very powerful halluciation which may explane visions of heaven or hell,life flahes before eyes,nirvana,etc. So thats it,no actual heaven above us or hell below us or whatever, just a gland giving the brain a happy thought before shutdown.

Yes thats possable but why would we evolve like that assuming we evolved at all? It would not exactally benifit the tribe as the individual would stop fighting whatever was killing them.

One possible way to test your theory is check the people who have been declared dead (but came back) who have reported that they didnt see a light or anything.

My wife is one person like that. She died when she had her hips or knees replaced (i cant remember which). She says that she remembers nothing. I dont know if her pinieal gland 'functions/was functioning' correctly, though.

LOL She had her hips AND knees replaced, at different times. I'm just not sure which operation her death happened.. actually, at the time of my post, she had gone to town.

She is back now, it was her knees. They left her awake for the hip surgery.

It may be how the concept of heaven or nirvana started i mean that the chances of a person nearly having a near death experience or something related that can cause the chemical to be secreted a couple of thousand years ago causing one hell of a trip then telling others about it are pretty good.As i see it, someone spreaded his/hers experience about what happend with everyone else,which then excalated to different religions,saints,gods,hell,jebus,etc.

i knew i was missing something when posting! but even if i spent my whole entier life researching and studying on the afterlife and how it could all just be a nice thought before shutdown will still be an opinion. Afterall,thats what the afterlife is,just simpily a matter of opinion
