You don't know that for sure. You have fuck-all proof of that. Sure, there's no proof that God exists, either, there's no proof that there is an afterlife, but religion is based on faith, they don't need proof. Many people feel that they have, in a sense, "felt" God in their lives. Whether this can be proved or not is beside the point because it's how they feel.

They're not all weak-minded please stop generalizing. You give atheists/agnostics/your parents a bad name.

Say we can prove without a doubt that God isn't real, this can't happen but just go with me, what then? Some people want that reassurance that after they die they're not just going to rot in the ground. Who are you to take it away from them?
