By fun, I am referring to Catholic girls in school uniform!
Most Christians don't go to church or pray or give a shit either.

I'm an atheist, and I still have to go to church... although I'm not exactly out of the closet (my family wouldn't be too happy about it).
But at least I get to see girls. Yum, yum! http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/biggrin.gif)

Ah, being an atheist is the life, no church, no worrys of being punished, being able to look at porn, Being able to say anything you want, being able to eat whatever you want whenever, being able to celebrate any holiday you feel like, or If you don't want to

The one good thing that comes out of religion: Holidays! I say create more religions so that we can have more holidays!

I'm an atheist. My family is christian, but not hardcore or anything, maybe at chistmas or easter they might go to church, but they do believe in god, but not me. I still celebrate Christmas because it's good to see my family, and it's usually a positive experience. I'm not celebrating Jesus' birthday, but neither is everyone else as he was born in March. What kind of religion doesn't even know the guys birthday.

Once more, a bunch of unevolved, self-proclaimed "atheists" confuse the asshole deity in the Bible with God. God does not restrict, punish, judge, or damn--he/she/it/them/whatever merely creates and manifests unconditional love.
Organized religion in general is mostly oppressive bullshit--God is the real deal.

And therein lies the dichotomy of atheism...
Living for self in search of pleasure - ignoring the soul in search of Hell.
This is why Christians are viewed as "weak"...because we can submit ourselves to our God and maker, and purposely CHOOSE not to succumb to every whim and fancy that enters our sinful minds.
It is ever so much harder to live the way Christians do. I don't see how submitting to God makes us weak. It goes against the very grain of our existence to do so.
I would venture to say that you all are under the age of 20, and haven't even made it past your neighborhood block, yet.
Give yourselves 10-20 years, and see if your perceptions of the world and the supernatural don't change.

Why, yes. Yes indeed.

There in lies the self-martyrdom of the Christian:
Nobody even uttered the word "weak", nor did they utter the words anemic, debilitated, decrepit, delicate, effete, enervated, exhausted, faint, feeble, flaccid or flimsy.
Forceless, fragile, frail, hesitant, impotent, impuissant, infirm, insubstantial, irresolute, lackadaisical, languid, languorous, limp, makeshift, powerless, prostrate, puny, rickety, rocky, rotten, senile, shaky, sickly, sluggish, spent, spindly, supine, tender, torpid, uncertain, undependable, unsound, unsteady, unsubstantial, wasted, wavering, weakened, weakly, wobbly, were also not uttered.
Source (http://thesaurus.reference.com/search?q=weak)
Nor did anybody utter the words "strength", "force" or any of their numerous synonyms which I don't care to mention, to point out an antagonistic nature.
Yet Digital_Savior has no problem with creating the illusion that it has been uttered; that somebody in this thread was arguing the "weakly" nature of Christians, be it in favor of that assertion or before it.
That is self-martyrdom. When you see oppression when there is none; when you oppress yourself.
Pointing out and then destroying strawmans gets tiring after a while...
P.S. That isn't a dichotomy. You have to first prove a hell exists.

Martyrdom ? *laughs* You love to throw that term around, as if it was negative. I suffer for my beliefs (no matter how much), and I am glad for it. I would die for my God, and by sheer definition, that makes me a martyr, since the world (i.e. unbelievers) wouldn't mind one bit if all the Christians "died for their God", not to mention were "murdered BECAUSE of their God".
It is not an insult to me for you to say that I act/talk/think like a martyr, because I am supposed to. I make it a point to focus on the incessant negativity poured down on Christians by unbelievers, such as yourself, because it is appalling that we should meet with such animosity for trying to tell people that God loves them. It's not our fault Hell exists. It not of our own actions that sends unbelievers there. TAKE IT UP WITH GOD. How can you hate someone, or think they are stupid, simply because they believe a certain thing to be true enough to live by it, so long as it doesn't cause pain and suffering (i.e. Muslim extremists) ?
Catholics have the most idolatrous Christian based religion on the planet...do I hate them ? No. I disagree, but I don't attack them personally as people simply because they are Catholic. That is what happens here in this thread with regards to the treatment of Christians.
So, go ahead and throw the term around some more...it is not offensive, and only serves to show that I have effectively illustrated my point. It is not SELF martyrdom, it is plain martyrdom.
Now, I never said anyone uttered the word "weak". I was making a point, separate to the actual topic at hand. It was an extension of the point I had already made, which WAS in relation to the topic.
If you're so tired of it (since you see a strawman in everything anyone says to you who does not agree with you), then stop responding. Everyone knows the prowess you possess in the arena of debate. Is it necessary to remind us at every turn, especially if you have grown weary of it ?
You lie. You love it. You aren't tired of it, you get off on it. So, you will continue, because it helps you to mentally climax.
I'm glad that, if nothing else, I give you the opportunity to achieve pleasure on a daily basis. http://www.totse.com/bbs/wink.gif (http://www.totse.com/bbs/wink.gif)
Oh, and the existence or non-existence of of Hell is not where the dichotomy exists. Read what I said again...
This is a perfect segue into a thread I am about to create. Perhaps my last statement will make more sense upon reading it.
[This message has been edited by Digital_Savior (edited 07-30-2005).]
More Self-martyrdom!
Who said it was an insult? It was an adjective. It would be up to you, or the reader to determine if it is insulting or not. I don't like being a self-martyr, that doesn't mean you can't be a masochist who likes it. That's up to you.
The fact remains that you created a strawman, when nobody here was arguing that Christians are weak. It was a strawman that you built so that you could "refute" it. It's a sleazy tactic.
quote:Oh, and the existence or non-existence of of Hell is not where the dichotomy exists. Read what I said again...
Wrong. Either you don't know what a dichotomy is, you didn't read your own thread.
A dichotomy involves a contradiction. You showed none. For you to show one, you need to show that Hell exists, or at the very least that the atheist believes hell exists.

Yeah mr.t1000, that must suck for you. Obviously God made you a dipshit, which anyone can tell by all your grammatical errors.
